📸📸📸@graceduval (longest post ever) I thought today would be a great day to post these, because today, May 25th, 8 years ago Clint and I chose to start dating. I laugh because I had this irrational fear that if I got married, it would get in the way of my goal of being an artist. I had no idea that being with the right partner made being an artist even more possible. Clinty has made me more colorful, And his support is the infrastructure for all of the best things in my life. What Grace DuVal can do with a camera, light, and color has always blown me away. Grace has shot so many beautiful photos of my life and my art work. But these are my favorite. We all got up, early and exhausted on my 34th birthday the day after the opening of #archiveasaction to shoot these photos for #spikow2. I feel like Grace captured the essence of Clint and I - - our hope that good things will come from our union and that we can share joy with those around us. My art is about connection and my marriage is the base. When Clint and I got married on 12/13/14 we rented the @cincyCAC for the night as an attempt to hijack a museum experience because we didn’t know if either of us would ever have a platform like that to showcase our work and collaborators. Now, that I have had the profound opportunity to work with the CAC, we are revisiting/reenacting our wedding #spikow as the final performance I am instigating before #archiveasaction closes on June 16th. Our friends that gifted us performance art at our wedding @rebirthgarments and The Flirty “O” @vogds and @nicogardner, @bowtyenterprises and @stevekemple and @upspiralcreative will revisit and/or evolve their 2014 performances. For #spikow2 we are also adding new performances from @ponesinc @intheshowersorry , @nomad3176 , Brett Price, and @kat.um. Our marriage is good - as a result of all of the incredible people that make up our world. #Spikow2 is June 13th. 6-9pm There will be pie by @ladythundermaker and cake from @bonboniecincy . I will be wearing all 5 of my wedding dresses through out the night and will be MCing the whole thing.
