Hey you said you'd answer asks about Pokemon type interactions. I get all of them other than Water's resistance to Ice. For years I've dwelled on it, unable to justify it to myself given ice would be super-effective against water in most games.

if u hit water with ice the ice is just gonna melt. a blizzard hitting the ocean is just gonna meld into the water. if anything it’s a bigger mystery why ice isn’t WEAK to water, i think.

I'm here for the mcelroy/pokemon content and feel bad for perpetuating the earlier discourse but that earlier post did seem pretty messed up. Don't get me wrong, fujoshis comparing "high scores" was gag inducing. But, as a gay guy I don't exactly care for being told shipping characters based on their physical appearances or only really having time for nsfw fanfics means I'm fetishizing my own orientation. The post also says wlw ships don't get fetishized, but straight guys do that all the time.

i feel u, i’m by no means saying i agree with op. they’re an anti, so they’re probably full of shit most of the time, and making a comprehensive list of arbitrary things and saying that’s a reasonable meter for if you’re ~problematic~ or not is obvious bullshit.

but if i have to agree w/ either the op or all the people in the fucking comments boasting their high scores that definitely do veer into fetishization (assuming they’re not all mlm themselves, cause as u said, u can’t fetishize yourself) i am going to lean toward’s OP’s side.

i don’t believe straight men fetishize wlw ships as often as straight women do mlm ships. i believe straight men fetishize actual, real-life lesbians (”can i watch?” and “she likes what i like” culture etc) but the way fujoshi are about their ~hawt yaoi sinz~ is something very particular to shipping culture, i think, and i don’t see the same with straight men and wlw ships. again, keyword ships. fwiw, i’m someone who’s spent pretty formative years of my life both in the fujoshi crowd (middle school) and in the 4chan waifu crowd (high school)

thaaat being said, i’ve found i’m pretty blind/unexposed to a lot of lesbophobia that other lesbians bring up so i might be wrong! but i p much agree w/ u. i’m just sickened that post made its way to my dash. i never want to see anything even in the same zipcode as something like that again.

I started marathoning Twin Peaks and am halfway through season 2 and so far Ed doesn't seem that bad. Why do you dislike him, or is it a spoiler for the end of season 2/3.

I have little sympathy for cheaters, and outright scorn for most. Everyone in Twin Peaks is cheating on their SO to some extent, but how commonplace it is doesn’t make it right.

There are some of them I have a little more heart for–Norma and Shelly are both in abusive relationships they can’t escape. Bobby was too, much as I love Laura she was a troubled fucking person and she was horrible to him as a result of it. But Ed’s story is a little too much for me because you can TELL that Nadine is only as manic as she is because she’s finely tuned into how much more Ed is into Norma than he’ll ever be into her. 

I have a lot of resentment for Ed because his need to be “the good guy” and avoid conflict is ruining someone close to him and you get to watch it happen. He shouldn’t have married Nadine. He shouldn’t have STAYED married to Nadine. He should’ve fucked off, let her know what was up, and then pursued his own romantic exploits while she figured out her life. 

Honestly, there’s nothing that fucks me up more in media than seeing a relationship that is so obviously over continue. Whether its a matter of “staying together for the kids” or what, I hate watching it–there’s no communication and people rarely come out of it unscathed. Nadine literally tries to kill herself.

And I think a lot of the contempt I have for him comes from how people in the fandom are always talking about how nice and sweet and selfless he is, look at him he looooves Norma and just wants to be happy with her but he stays with Nadine anyyyywayyysss to keep her happy! Like no! Nadine is not happy! She is not blissfully unaware! She clearly knows what is going on and it’s CLEARLY under her skin, she knows why her husband is constantly going to the diner and leaving her alone in the house, she knows exactly where his heart is and what he gets up to and it’s death by a thousand cuts. 

It’s kind of a Korrasami situation, lol. I want Nadine to be happy. I want Norma to be happy. Fuck Ed for compromising that happiness and pitting them on opposite sides.

Okay I wanna say first I went into it knowing it wouldn’t be anything like a AAA Game of the Year experience. And the game wasn’t without its flaws too. Camera was a bit wonky at times (though not nearly so much as other people were saying I thought) and getting Trico to listen to do certain things could get just a bit frustrating. But ultimately? It was beautiful. As emotionally resonant as GENdesign’s other titles Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. And worth every year of the wait too. By the end it proved itself to every ounce of the amazing experience it hyped itself up to be over the years. With the level of immersion and storytelling combined with the gameplay and realness of Trico’s behavior you really got the feeling that just to quote the end of the song from Ico; you were there

Would you recommend Bungo Stray Dogs? I watched the first two episodes and couldn't really get a read on it.

yes! It is really good definitely after the first few episodes you actually get into the story and you meet some great characters *cough* chuuya *cough*

Actually if the leaks DO end up being right it looks like Litten’s final would be of the Fire/Dark typing. Also imo its the best designed final Fire type evolution since Blaziken
