NOTE ABOUT HIATUS: 2019 hasn’t been my best year for my health. In recent months, I’ve been diagnosed with and am being treated for skin cancer and possible osteomyelitis. It’s not fatal thankfully, but it does slow me a down a bit. I’m still doing my art and have more projects in the pipeline, so stay tuned!
First is for @spinearlcentral and their Fusion Fest. Meet Spinel and Pearl’s fusion, Pezzottaite, aka “Raspberry Beryl”. Visually, the pose and color scheme inspired by a flamingo! The similarity of the outfit to Pink/Rose is no coincidence either. When putting together their personality, I concluded that the combination would most likely match Pink Diamond; innocent, immature, yet compassionate. I believe their fusion can be made by the gems’ fun and positive attributes versus a bitterness toward Pink. I believe their relationship would be strong, fun and loving, with strong decision making skills learned from Pink’s mistakes. Physically, “Pez” equals about Sardonyx in size.
Finding Pezzottaite’s metaphysical properties were difficult, I actually chose it by the properties of “Red Beryl”, which is very similar and often is listed together. In particular, I was inspired by a quote from Crystal Vaults, describing it as... “ a passionate Earth stone of physical vitality and action. Its metaphysical energies make it the perfect “Right Time” Crystal, lending wisdom and self-confidence in knowing “the right time” to change one’s mind, change one’s direction, or to “do” something. It imparts strength of purpose and courage, and can spark the action needed to overcome undesirable circumstances, or lend the vigor needed to tackle long-overdue projects.” This perfectly describes the fusion I wished to create.
