I went to my local spinning guild meeting last night and got two thumbs up on my recent spinning finish!! ☺️
I’m so happy! It really only MATTERS if I like, but always good to double check I’m on the right track with more experienced spinners!

Finally went to the guilds local social spinning group on the right day. It was lovely.
Spent 3 hours doing my spinning in a sweet little room half full of old wheels and chatting with the 4 or 5 other people there.
The next youngest person there was probably twice my age, and there are pros and cons to that. It felt a lot like the ceramics group I do the course with.
I wish it was easier to find people my age in crafts...
Met up with the other spinning guild officers tonight to plan out an approximate schedule for the year and hoo boy did I not miss all the interpersonal politics that come with holding any kind of committee/official role
(Not with said officers, mind; just with other people in the guild, in the "oh this person isn't going to like that idea" way)
Overall I'm pretty excited, we've got some good activities planned and I think it's gonna be a good year, but I definitely had that moment of "ah. Yes. This nonsense."
Hi lovelies!
I hope everyone is having a nice week so far. I haven’t posted much because I’ve been busy with work and filming and saving my money by not buying fiber/yarn (booo), and the only thing I’m working on right now is that pillow case (I want to finish that big project before starting ANY other projects).
In the meantime, I did want to call attention to something in case any of my local spinners/fiber fanatics are interested. I went to the last day of the GA Ren Fest on Sunday and the Peachtree Handspinners Guild had a shop where they were spinning, knitting and dyeing (none of it was for purchasing unfortunately). After revealing myself as an honest-to-goodness spinner, they told me about a workshop weekend coming up in August called Plying the Arts. If you go through that link and click on the Plying the Arts 2015 link (top right) it’ll give you all the registration info and class schedules. I’m not actually sure if any of my followers on this blog are local to Georgia but I figured I’d put the word out there anyway (so this blog isn’t just a “look what i can do” post)
