So
I think that Sasha and Michael were meant to have more canon development with each other. You don't just have an entire episode introducing a main character to the horrors via coffee date for it to mean NOTHING. They just never had the opportunity to expand on it due to issues with her VA. Which is totally valid.
But that doesn't mean I can't dream of what could have been!!!! What originally was just a fun dynamic I thought could be interesting quickly turned into let Sasha have her evil incomprehensible girlfriend.
My interpretation of their relationship is the Distortion having this gravitation to Sasha. I like to think it's because she reminds it of Michael Shelley. Too trusting, too curious, foolishly brave in the face of danger. It would never admit this, of course, but it's so unlike the Distortion to play favorites. Especially without a catch.
Of course it mistakes its pull to her as wanting to eat her, that's all it wants at the end of the day. Atleast that's what it's supposed to want. But now it's not really what it's supposed to be, is it? All the while Sasha holds strong, dealing with this odd creatures antics as it tries reconcile with feelings it knows but cannot begin to understand.
Basically, she's a big smart ass and it's likes it way too much. And now it doesn't know what to do with itself.
It's simply just too fascinating for her to tell anyone, so maybe she won't fuss as much as she should when this imitation of a man invites itself into her home. Yes, she's afraid of it, but not nearly enough to reject it. Not when it leaves such pretty lilies on her doorstep.
Maybe I'm projecting too much kindness on Michael, but I wonder if it would've watched over her if it could. Maybe it wishes it had just killed her from the start. Then Sasha James would've had a grave. She would have been mourned by more than the dead.
KISSS THE SHAPES AND COLORS GIRL!!!!!!!
