The Lonely Laughing (RotBTD au)
Wow, you beat me to it this time. I had to go to get wood, no doubt tomorrow the fields will still be painted white. And the cold will continue to envelop everything. I'm glad that the house has already warmed up. Give me a moment to remove all the snow on me and take out some hot chocolate and some sweets.
Here, little one. Why am I covered in snow? Jack Frost, the little rascal, started a snow battle that has spread all over the streets. You don't know anyone in town who is called that? Of course not, Jack Frost is a spirit. A very good one even if it's a bit naughty.
For a long time now, winter has been feared by many, as it is cold, barren and cruel. It does not give opportunity to living beings and only brings death. But he has taken charge of changing that idea little by little. He has made laughter surround these times, with games, jokes and jokes. More people see thanks to this spirit the benevolences that winter brings and what it means.
This is a moment of rest, in which the earth sleeps and recovers the lost forces, preparing for the arrival of spring and the restart of the cycle, making the mountains load with snow that will supply the lands, the trees and plants rest and the animals sleep or dress in thicker layers.
I don't know if he was born as an anima or became one of them, but if the latter were true, I can assume with this that he was not someone important for History, because his history did not become a legend. What? Oh, yes. Spirits can be born already those or transformed from someone who has proved worthy, through sacrifice and still follow their essence, to represent that element.
Although, unfortunately, no matter how much joy it gives, it is not something reciprocal. Listen, the spirits surround us but they are only seen by those who believe in them from the heart.
My little one, I have something to ask of you. Something important. Believe in him, believe that he is the one who begins each snow battle, that his laughter is the wind, that when a pile of snow falls on someone it is one of his jokes, that every time you see people laughing in the middle of winter there is a voice that joins them. That the frosted windows are caused because he wanted to hear some story. If you see a shadow moving in the icy field it's him, looking to provoke a new laugh.
It brings us so much happiness, it makes us so happy. He has made us see wonders in the winter that otherwise would have gone unnoticed but he is alone, and he doesn't deserve that. Nobody deserves to be alone.
What? No, I doubt he tasted chocolate. What do we call him and leave him on the window sill? I think it's a charming idea. No, no. Better in a thermos, dear, maybe he' ll be shy and come up after a while.
