Last Sunday, OMARA Construction, Inc. conducted their first “Family Day!” by bringing our workers and their family in one of the water parks in the Philippines, Splash Island! Everyone came home happy and satisfied!

Fish spas seems to be a hit all over water themed parks . I've heard a  lot of good buzz about and I have decided to have one during our family day last weekend. We are all familiar with the regular foot spas in salons but what is fish spa? Fish Spa or Fish Therapy is a procedure in which a person places his or her feet in a tank filled with fishes called garra rufa or also known as a doctor fish which can be found in the middle east and the these amazing creatures nibble the dead skin from the feet. I felt a strong tickling sensation during the first half of time  but I eventually got used to it. After the procedure my feet were moderately soft. I felt relaxed, overall it was an awesome experience.

Got to experience Rio Montanosa, Splash Islands’ group slides. I was laughing and nervous at the same time while my sister and DJ were having the time of there lives. I have to say that I am not really built for slides, roller coasters or anything that’s conceptualised to fall down from high places. But nonetheless we have to try out new things everyday despite our fears.

I had a pretty jam-packed week, and I’ll probably be posting more of my activities from last week for the next coming days. but for now I’d like to thank God for the blessing and favour that He has given to my whole family. We had our family day and celebrated my in-laws’ wedding anniversary at Splash Island water park last Saturday. The whole family was there including my sister and her boyfriend. We enjoyed all of the amenities and oh did I mention that everything was free? My family and I would like to thank the management and staff for making our family day a special one. Thank you Splash Island

Splash Island

The girls and I spent about five hours at Splash Island yesterday, and we had the greatest time, but my body is simply exhausted.  I am sore, tired, and sunburned.  I really wish I had an extra day with them this week to just sit at home and be lazy.  Lounging on the couch with Netflix sounds like a perfect plan for today.  

The girls are a little bit sunburned as well, but thank God they are nowhere near as red as I am.  I am very fair skinned with red-ish hair and blue eyes, but my girls are a quarter Mexican on J’s side and they typically tan immediately instead of burning due to them having a slightly darker complexion than me.  E and Bug are brown eyed like J, but Bee got a cross of our eyes and ended up with hazel.  E has brown hair like J, and my girls have the same red tint that I do.  I often refer to our hair color as strawberry blonde.  It lightens in the summer and darkens in the winter.  

We packed a cooler for our Splash Island trip.  We had water bottles, ham deli meat, grapes, baby carrots, and in another bag, a loaf of bread and a bag of chips.  (The girls LOVE having picnics.)  We got in the lazy river first, and rode the man made current on our inter-tubes about three more times after that. E really loved the big pool which starts at 4ft and ends at 6ft, and I was super proud of Bee when she decided to swim the length of the pool alongside E.  She’s not as great a swimmer as her older sister yet, and that was very brave of her.  Bee’s favorite part however was the water slides.  She went a few times by herself while E and Bug (with a lifejacket) played in the big pool.  Then for the last hour or so, E and Bee rode the big water slides together while Bug went on the kiddie slides in the (heated) kiddie pool over and over again.  I sat in a central place in the kiddie pool so that  I could keep an eye on all three of the girls.  (There were actually seats along the edges like in a hot tub.)  And it felt like a hot tub, too.  It was a perfect day.

The only thing we were missing was J.  I invited him, and he actually really wanted to come, but he couldn’t make it.  I’m trying really hard to be understanding, but it’s getting old, him not spending any time with the girls at all.  I don’t think he realized it would be this hard when he left.  His struggling to make ends meet is really effecting is ability to see our girls.  I feel like he’s always on the run trying to make a quick buck.  So instead of stopping by our house on his way home from work, he’s off to sell another personal belonging so he can make rent or buy groceries.  He didn’t have it like that when he was with me.  Maybe he’ll learn now.

E was already alseep when I went to tuck the girls in.  (I told them it was time to get ready for bed, and she literally went right to sleep.)  But I am certain she would have told me her favorite part of the day was the big pool.  Bee’s favorite part of our day was the water slides.  And Bug’s favorite part was the lazy river, and having a picnic lunch.  And my favorite part was the quality time I got to spend with my girls and seeing them so happy.   

I fell asleep in bed with Bug and woke up halfway through the night and got into my own, much too big bed.  And I surely was not ready for Monday morning to roll around.   What a perfect, fun, and exhausting weekend we had.  And we get to do it again this weekend when we go to Kentucky Kingdom for two days!  I can’t wait!
