Brer Fox from Song of the South and formerly Splash Mountain is one of my favorite Disney characters. And very underrated. And here’s why. He’s all crazy, but like most foxes in real life, can also be reserved around others. Think Sam from iCarly. She made the show for me. Carly and Freddie were just there and didn’t really do much for me personality wise. Similarly I pretty much like the animated sequences in Song of the Sourh for Brer Fox. The live action part of the movie? Yawn. He’s also playful, intelligent, sarcastic, and even handsome. No obsessive furry here (ignore that I totally am), but really I just love the way Disney animated him. They did a good job. I love his laugh too. I’m pretty sure it was inspired by an actual fox laugh. Look it up on YouTube for some medicine if you had a bad day. They actually sound like happy people and children! It’s the best. My life is now complete. And Brer Bear is more slow and dimwitted. Brer Rabbit has his moments but eh, rabbit characters aren’t really my thing. Sorry also, Bugs Bunny. Anyway Brer Fox, to me personally has the most personality out of the splash mountain trio. It’s a shame Disney has retired these characters for reasons I won’t get into here. I would have loved to see what else they can do with them. Like having their own animated tv show on Disney Plus would have been cool. It most likely won’t happen, but there’s always fanfiction. It’s funny how they all play off each other. Ok, and maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to see some more Brer Fox. And I am. And no apologies will be made.
Foxes aren’t aggressive necessarily, unless they’re provoked. But they are pretty shy and stand offish. They’re like that own introvert at a party, they probably won’t approach you first. But they’re also very smart and confident, making them one of my favorite animals. They’re also perfect if you have trouble deciding between dogs and cats! Although foxes are in the dog family, they have more in common with cats. Including excellent eyesight for night hunting and pouncing. Plus, they are gorgeous with their reddish/orange fur. Although I also really like silver and arctic foxes.
