Splatoon references in other games #2:
In Tetris 99, there is a splatoon 1 theme available for purchase for 30 tickets (8 days worth of all challenges)
The songs for the theme are:
Regular- splattack by squid squad
50 players left- unknown (I'm too lazy to figure out which song it is)
10 players left- now or never! by squid squad.
Extra facts:
When you clear lines, they PLAY WOOMY SOUNDS LET'S GOOOOO-
If you lose, the defeat theme plays. (I have no clue on the victory theme if there is any because I've actually never won Tetris 99 before)
The start sounds are the starting sounds from the game.
(there's probably more that lines up, so feel free to share!)
I found these to be pretty interesting. The top picture gives you a tentacle count so you can accurately give your squids/squidsona's an accurate count. But of course, you can be like me and just ignore it or say your squid has mutated extras. (My squidsona Zeek accidentally has more than he should, but in my defense, I didn't have the book yet so I didn't know about it, plus I love his design too much to change it,) but if you want to be accurate and have the info, here it is! I'm not sure what the second photo is. Apologies, I am not fluent in Japanese whatsoever. My guess is that it's either an age chart or the transformation sequence from squid to kid. If it is an age chart, it might be interesting to note that they don't start off as kids or humanized babies. But like I said, I can't be sure. The last one is interesting because it gives us a little insight on the things squiddies eat. Apparently Kelp Dome grows all kinds of strange fruits that are fresh with squids such as blue watermelons and lemons that look like turkeys. They have a picture of other fruits on the top of the page, but like I mentioned in the other post, the book makes it rather difficult to take photos.
So I had gotten this a little while ago as a birthday gift but it's really insightful for artist out there who really want to get the Splatoon details right. Whether it's clothes, items, territories, weapons or monsters, this book pretty much has it all. They even have things like old concepts of characters and items like bombs, ink canisters, Octo Valley attire, and villain designs. I'll be posting some stuff that I found, but not all of it because my phone quality isn't great and the book is a bit awkward, so it catches a lot of light and bends pictures while I'm trying to take photos of them. In other words, I encourage you to buy a copy for yourself and support this awesome games and the artists behind it who obviously put a lot of tlc into this game. It literally has pictures of all the gear, sub weapons in full detail, and specials, so if you need a reference for specific gear or specials, let me know and I'll take a detailed pic for you. Off I go! Will mark any spoilers.
