#splatoon weapon idea

LOVED the direct so much I made a splatoon OC

This is Soda (she/her)! also made up some gear and weapons just because

Species: Inkling (squid kid!) Age: 15/16? still thinking

Soda is super energetic! She takes her hobby of playing turf wars and ranked battles super seriously. She's always moving around and can't sit still. Fortunately, this is very useful in turf wars and ranked matches!

WEAPONS She is a serious Dualies player, though she does dabble in Undercover Brellas, Inkbrushes and Mini Splatlings. She likes moving fast, but can't aim well with shooters and would rather not even try the chargers. I made up some weapons! These are her MAIN weapons! Her favourites are the Condibash Dualies! She will play the two kits about equally, depending on if she's feeling more for support or for aggression. Condibash Dualies are Dualies that favour turfing. They have a short but very wide (and inaccurate close-up) range, and the dodge rolls are your best friend! After a roll, the aiming is perfect when still (like other Dualies) but also leaves a thicker trail of ink and has consistent extra falloff. idk if that's overpowered, haha, I'm not a game designer. They are based on ketchup/mustard condiment bottles and named after the words 'condiment' and 'bash'. The two kits are the Ketchup Condibash Dualies and the Mustard Condibash Dualies. The Ketchup Condibash Dualies have Splat Bomb and Ink Armor, a more supportive set that focuses mostly on turfing. The Mustard Condibash Dualies are more aggressive, sporting a set with Burst Bombs and the special Booyah Bomb. Main Power Up on the Condibash Dualies increases damage, and with their inaccuracy, this is a bit helpful, though I'm not sure how combat-oriented a Condibash Dualie main would be. 

GEAR I also made up some gear! I don't have brand ideas whoops. I assume she would have a lot of Swim Speed Up, Ink Saver Sub, Ink Resist Up, Special Charge Up... She loves moving fast and using her bombs as her main form of combat, since the weapon is pretty bad with combat.

Headwear: Medusal Scrunchie! (medusal is a category of cnidarian, which includes things like jellyfish) 

Clothing: Clear Sky Tank (asymmetry in Splatoon clothing is tight! based on a lot of fandom headcanon designs for the Warrior Cats character Clear Sky)

Pants: not gear bc no stats, but the Marooned Skirt is a maroon colour and it wraps around her pants, which are an orange gradient on the back!

Shoes: Marooned Kicks. They have like an oyster pattern on them, but it's vague and I think it looks alright as a logo on some shoes.

*Note: the thing on her back is the ink tank! Her hair is tied up except for the two tentacles that go in front. idk why I chose this but they're not as long as Inkling tentacles usually are, idk maybe she cut them and they regrew? (tentacles are like hair in this world. cut tentacle hair is a thing seen in the games, so I'm not suggesting anything graphic here.)

So here's an idea for a Splatoon weapon. Hoses.

You'll carry a hose by the nozzle, the the actual tube strapped to the ink tank. The trigger will cause a constant jet of rather low power ink to shoot out. It would on average have some decent range, maybe a bit shorter than Jet Squelcher.

However, there's so much more. Pressing the L bumper will cause the hose to swap settings. Now, instead of a stream of ink, the hose will shoot mist. Imagine the toxic mist, but as a main weapon.

Using the mist on an opponent will not do damage, but instead build mist. Once mist is built up, an effect will be placed on the opponent. Mist can be removed by the opponent swimming in thier own ink or being splatted, but once it is fully built up, the opponent must wait it out. Each type of hose has a different mist effect. These range from opponent taking more damage to slower movement speed to a slow charging special or even a short lasting poison affect.

This is a support class, and should focus on keeping enemies at bay while also afflicting status if they get too aggresive.

Some extra facts.

Mist takes more ink than jets. Mist is also shorter ranged, meaning you need to be clever in order to affect opponents.

Hoses have high movement speed, as they are just a small nozzle and a short tube.

Hear me out on this. Spray can dualies

They’ll be more focused on inking turf and support than combat Mobility and fire rate will be high but damage and range will be low Because they’re so light, you’ll be able to dodge-roll up to 5 times The ink bullets would make a small cloud of ink in front of you to simulate the spray can effect The ink consumption would be middle of the road. Nothing great, nothing bad

The sub would be Sprinkler. Throw it in an area you feel would take you too long to ink by yourself and move on to the next area. It can also work as a distraction for enemies so you can get away to safety in case of ambushes

The special would be Ink Storm. Throw the sucker in the direction of enemies and carry on inking turf to quickly build another one up

It would have one other kit that’s slightly more combat oriented.

The sub would be Burst Bombs. Burst Bombs consume so little ink that you can easily throw two or more at any up coming enemies trying to ambush you or as a “Get away from me” tactic. Stacking Ink Saver Sub would be highly recommended

The special would be Ink Armor. A safety trigger if you find yourself in trouble and under heavy fire, and support for your whole team while not even being where they are. Or if you want to, rush in and ink as much as your enemy’s turf as you can while you’re protected
