ARM IS OUTSTRETCHED FOR THE BRIEFEST of moments , hand desperate to clutch the girl’s shoulder or sleeve at the very least . alas , she is swift and far too determined for her own well - being . a defeated huff can be heard before shouting in the direction of her travel . towards the door , into the silent chaos of vienna in wartime . ❛ eva , you can’t run off without telling me where you’re going ! ❜ // @splendorburned .
@splendorburned it’s time to die =)
“Eva Perón. I have been waiting to meet you for a long time.”
The tall man stepped past the nurse who brought the painkillers the First Lady would no longer need, passed the nurse with fresh bedsheets, and stopped by the left side of the bed. The president’s hand hovered above the woman’s head, frozen in time, though when it would reach its destination, she would no loner be there to feel it.
A woman full of fire, a soul that could not be contained by this dying body that failed her at what many people would call a young age. Death remembered a time when such people could look back on a life they would call long and fulfilling. Now, however, standards changed, and so did Death, to an extent.
With an almost majesty gesture, he offered his hand to the woman. “No introductions are necessary, you know who I am and why I have come, Primera Dama”
@splendorburned // starter call.
he had never expected to travel far outside the immediate neighbors of the soviet union, and yet where his commanders told him to go, andrei went. with no question other than that of what he was to do where he was sent. often, the answers he was given burdened him, made his spirits sink, and reminded him of the unhappiness which existed as a constant in his soul. he was grateful that this time, what was required of him was no moral crime.
the diplomatic party needed guards, and who better than the reliable sort that andrei came from? so far from his home he’d been sent, across the entire world, to south america where diplomatic relations were being struck with the argentinian government. and though he’d been under the impression he’d be remaining with the representatives from moscow, he’d instead been sent off with the first lady of the other country; he rode now in her car, in the back, eyes open for any sign of a threat to the motorcade.
it was not his responsibility to speak to her. and yet the silence felt quite uncomfortable, so much so that even andrei, who was trained in silence, felt the unmistakable pull to end it. and yet he knew he could initiate nothing. that as a soldier, his silence was an unspoken rule. so he settled for a glance over, before turning his cool gaze back to the crowds that lined the streets outside.
@splendorburned gets a lyrical starter Blanche - City Lights
“ I could never leave you and the city lights.... I could never beat the storm in your eyes. The storm in your bright eyes.” She would not leave, she did not want to go home to England, to rainy and cold england, back to bland people, to people who made her feel absolutely nothing. She would much rather stay here in Argentina, with Eva, with the woman who inspired her the way no one else could ever do. “ Let's put some light into our lives, but keep the storm that's in your eyes .”
❛ pardon me if my old spirit is showing ! ❜

@splendorburned bc i missed uuuu
“Eva... you know you are my most trusted friend, and... an idol to me, too. Someone I look up to... and I hate to be just another moaning voice in your ear but... I really could use some of your wisdom, if you have time.”
To her father’s displeasure, her stay here brought them no particular advantages and to her it did not truly matter. By the side of the first lady she found something more precious than more wealth and power than her family already held: she found insight. Not wisdom, but the dawning realization that there was more than what she knew and what she thought she wished. Eva had not shown her a new world, but made her aware that another one exists - progress, some would call it, or the demolition of comfortable lies and illusions.
“Do you have time? It is not urgent, by any means. I can come back any time later, there is just something I would like to hear your opinion on.”
@splendorburned continued from [ x ]
“I wish you were right! It’s so much easier to get carried away by the current. It’s easier to be cold and selfish, especially if you are surrounded by people who are just the same.” Still, her expression softened when Eva touched her cheek, as brief as the gesture may have been. A soft sigh escaped her lips. “If only... if only more people would listen to you. You could open their hearts and make them see. If not you, who else?”
