MUTANT MAYHEM SPOILERS

I got vaguely spoiled for the scumbug and splinter thing (because some old man was complaining that they went “woke” and made splinter kiss a male bug… scumbug is a girl in mutant mayhem and is called she throughout the movie…) but like why did they have setup for it

like at the start of the movie there’s a remark about how maybe one day splinter could find somebody and he says something like “how many mutant women do you know trust me I’ve looked” and before that he mentions that his first friend was a cockroach and then by the end of the movie he finds a mutant woman cockroach to fall for and he understands what she says and is like the only person not grossed out by her

it does insinuate that either the cousins remark made by superfly either just doesn’t apply at all or simply doesn’t apply to splinter and I mean scumbug is siblings with the other mutants which would make the other mutants actually aunts and uncles to the turtles if splinter and scumbug got married

that or it’s incest but I’ve seen way too much of that in tmnt and I would rather have a complicated explanation than accept that AGAIN
