And to answer your question: yeah it totally freaks them out to watch Splinter and Scumbug aging. I mean, it freaks me out when my dad has trouble reading labels, which is such a tiny thing but it really is scary to see that happening in real time, because you just know in the back of your mind that they’ve lived the majority of their life already, and it’s only downhill from here. Especially if your parents are, like, your rock.
Anyway, Splinter is definitely their rock. They spent fifteen years with each other and him, just him, and despite all their arguments and family tension they cannot imagine life without him but they know that day is coming, whenever it may be.
Donnie is the most bothered by this. It keeps him awake at night.
