why did she ever let keri drag her to this place? she loves keri, but she can.. tend to alter the truth of things a little bit just to make it sound more alluring. life would be a lot easier if she wasn’t so pretty. ( -- she’s struggled with this realization since the time they were in their early teens. )
keri, not so surprisingly, is nowhere to be found. she’s always been like that. anne wouldn’t necessarily call her a flaky person, but she’s very... flighty. she doesn’t like to sit in one place, she likes to be all over. she’s the definition of social. and anne usually isn’t that bad herself, but tonight she’s.. off. something’s bothering her, she can’t quite pinpoint it, so she’s found herself in the corner of the basement in a reclining chair. knees up to her chest, she looks out among the throng of people, picking apart different faces. yeah, she doesn’t know anyone. ❛ jesus-- fuckin’ christmas-- ❜ spoken to herself, she groans, pushing herself up from her seat to begin moving through the crowd. she reaches the bottom of the stairs, begins her journey up, winds up opening the door to the above floor to then make a b-line to the bathroom. long story short: she opens the wrong door. she’s actually managed to find her way to the bedroom, opening the door only to find two men having an exchange. ❛ oh, shit-- my bad. ❜ an exchange she can only assume is illegal. but she knows the one guy, he’s the owner of the house, the one keri introduced her to when they arrived. nah, you’re all good. -- keri’s friend? she was just planning on leaving them to their business, but.. well this guy has been a talker from the beginning. ❛ uh, yeah-- anne. ❜ she notices the other ( pretty ) one is looking relatively nervous. she feels the need to reassure, ❛ -- i, um.. was looking for the bathroom.. your-- secret’s safe with me.. and all that... ❜
