Went out for groceries and when i came back, look what was parked right next to me, a '52 split! What! Naturally waited for the owner to appear, turned out it's a story from VW porn mags: owned for many many years by a really nice old retired couple and they even live just a few streets down from my house. Car is quite original driver condition, with what the grandpa said "only one repaint from the seventies". Only thing different from the stories you hear, this old man and lady luckily know what they've got, so they won't be getting screwed by people buying it cheap and selling it overseas. Makes me happy! I have the phone number of the owner, so will deffo have another look at it later on..
