Some conceptuals for the Christmas drawing I shared yesterday! Probably not completely to scale- Scribner and Moon tower over Mylo and Bennie- but overall, I'm pretty content with how these turned out. Enjoy!

Another relationship chart! Now with about 42% more squiddos and approximately 30% more confusion. However, I shall explain a couple of these relations... under the Read More! Come to the read more if you’d like additional elaboration, otherwise, enjoy~

Okie dokie. So most of these are relations that I haven’t really demonstrated in the canon yet, or ones that I need a written reference for, so... here we go!

1. Bennie and Moon share a sort of brother/sister relationship, with Bennie being a bit of the clingy one and Moon being the reluctantly accepting one. They like to share memes with each other.

2. Peppie and Bennie, and Delpha and Moon, were all school buddies. While they could only get together during recess, they did all have good fun. That is, until Delpha and Peppie were taken into homeschooling, despite the squids only having to go to school once a week. 

3. This one might be hard to see, but it’s Bryant and Guppi. When their families lived near each other and had get-togethers, they tried to avoid each other- Bryant didn’t like hanging out with his family, but Guppi hated his clinginess. While they did have a time of seperation from their families moving, they’ve since talked about it together, and now they’re cool.

4. Mylo has a crush on Moon, but outside of singing about it, he hasn’t been very upfront with her about his feelings. Moon is aware of the crush and while she hasn’t acknowledged it, she’s relatively okay with it just as long as Mylo isn’t too abrupt about his advances.

5. Delpha initially had a crush on Bryant for his Hydra Splatling Skills, to which he would promptly reject. After one stressful incident, though, Bryant’s begun to ease into the prospect of a- relatively platonic- relationship as Delpha has been more laid-back with him.

6. While most of the members of the Squidiots are amicable with the Stagecrew Kids, Guppi more or less tolerates them because he simply doesn’t know them very well. Plus, Bennie and Moon are genuinely afraid of his Octobrush skills.

7. Delpha and Peppie are siblings. I think we all knew that. But maybe some people didn’t. So, yes. They are siblings!

Inktober Day #25- Ship I don't think anyone wanted this. But in all honesty, I'm not sure what else I would've done. Anyway, we're a little under 5/6 of the way there! Which is definitely farther than I've ever gotten. And, to celebrate, have Mylo's Rad Dads™. Enjoy!

You know, the more I’ve been drawing/writing about Delpha and Bryant’s relationship, the more I find myself enjoying it. And it’s weird, considering all their chemistry pretty much started off as a joke. 

I guess it’s just the less they think about the fact that they’re high-level splatlings with a bunch of tension in their home lives and the more they think about... I dunno, finding that they’ve found somebody they can be in solidarity with and just chill out a little, things between them now are pretty alright. Although I can’t say if their relationship goes as far as the extent of Mesonii and Sankra’s relationship (and it might never), they’re still good pals who very much value each other. 

Anyway, enough sappiness. I’ve had this idea to draw them facetiming each other from their rooms for a while, and I figured now would be a good time to attempt it. While it’s not exactly what I envisioned in my head, I think it works here, and that works for me.

Sorry I haven’t been too active around here- lots of business. That being said, though, I’m gonna see what I can do to try Inktober this year, since I have a proper gauge on what I can and can’t attempt in a day.

Aaaaanyway, how about we go back to some art? You guys may or may not remember Jerome- I don't think I've actually introduced him in correlation to his name and appearance before, so thus, here he is with Bennie! I've given him a little bit of a redesign, and I think it'll suit him well. Jerome's the only biological child of his and Bennie's family. He was born while his mother and father were still in their long career of being professional turfers; after they retired a couple years ago, they began to take in a few foster kids, with intentions to eventually adopt them (Bennie being one of those kids). Jerome's pretty chill, I would say- he's very much the straight man of the family, and he's pretty okay with dedicating his time to hanging out with everyone in his family. It does make him a little bit passive, though, and he's often quiet compared to a lot of other squids. But as Bennie is saying, he's still a good dude. Enjoy!

Some color palette challenges with the perpetually worried squids.

There are some aspects of all three of these that I like (coloring across the board, Mesonii’s posing, Mylo’s face) and some things that I really don’t like (Bennie’s entire sketch, Mesonii’s face), but I’d say overall these came out pretty okay.
