I was contemplating “ruining” the drawing by adding highlights of white. either with white gel pen or white pastel. i can’t make up my mind. especially because of the
“don’t ruin it, idiot”

I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, or if it means anything, but when John is first hallucinating Mary, she's wearing the same clothes as the last time he saw her alive. Then after he watched the DVD of her, his next hallucination she was wearing the clothes from the video. I think it's just how he remembered seeing her last.
