something very sinister about dean becoming john's caregiver and, essentially, the pseudo-wife of his own father in mary's absence. and john's last words to his own son are praising him for being so good at it even when john himself says it shouldn't have been up to dean to do such a thing. as if saying sorry on his deathbed will ever fix it.
