Okay so all season long there's been this whole Dean and Amara bond right? And it is supposed to be romantic and sexual. Lucifer as Cas specifically mentions attraction. In Into the Mystic Mildred talks about how Dean is romantically pining for someone. When they meet as adults she kisses him.

Now in the finale, the conclusion Dean comes to is that her feelings for Dean was basically transference. Dean representated all that Chuck created. She only wanted Dean because she actually wanted...her brother.

This truly is the incest show.
