i think the samtorture in the trap really exemplifies sam being god's favorite pincushion and makes every single samtorture throughout the series just clicks into place. of course chuck, who cant do it himself, he can't stomach it, would orchestrate it so that he gets a front row seat to sam's girlfriend being forced to dig around in his wound with a scalpel while sam comforts her. of course he would. the girlfriend that god gave him. the levels of violation going on here are insane. because it's all about punishing sam for being lucifer('s vessel). the many fates lucifer himself faced were not enough punishment for the betrayal chuck can't let go of. so sam has to suffer.
"So you say that Castiel is back in heaven to find Gabriel? Haven't we seen him dying?"
"Yeah. But he was so long in the Witness Program, I believe he was doing one of his Tricks again."
"Wouldn't he show up when he is alive?"
"When has he done that besides the times he was tricking us?"
"So Cas is up there for how long now? Two weeks? And we get nothing? No short <hey! Do you have anything 'cause I've got nothing> visit? No call?"
"It's Gabriel we're searching. He was thousands of years in the Witness Program, and the angels didn't find him. And now they're finding him in two weeks? And Cas is not their best buddy since he... You know... Took out a lot of his brothers."
"Okay, Okay. But has Chuck returned to heaven? They've got a war up there, and he had nothing better to do than write books about us, get a Betty as a girlfriend and have nothing to do all day? I mean... He is literally god!"
A man next to them turns around
"Excuse me for interrupting you. But I don't think that you should talk like that about God and his creation. He is so powerful that he could kill you with the snap of his fingers."
"Where do you come from that you want to tell us something about God?"

"Here is something new to you: We've met him, and he's shit. Most of his angels have more Courage than he has."
"You can't talk like that about God! He created everything, and he would never destroy his creation!"

"Hello, guys! I heard you've talked about me?"
"Chuck! What do you want? We're having a serious conversation!"
"Oh, Dean. When you're talking about me to a man who believes in me, I'm interested in the Outcome. Not that I've got a non-believer more."
