#12 - The Hanged Man

When deciding on The Hanged Man card, I had a lot of options. As the shift in perspective and the idea of making choices (if not the universe will make them for you) is a common theme for a lot of characters in Supernatural. However, in the end I realised there was only one man whose whole journey fully embodied the card; Mick Davies.

Mick's journey was one of ultimate surrender, making a sacrifice to the greater good, after he finally realised that he needed to see things from a different perspective. And that is exactly what The Hanged Man represents; letting go of old thought patterns and behaviours as you see the world from a new perspective, so you can embrace new opportunities.

Mick Davies let go of "The Code" and though he ultimately had to make the biggest sacrifice, he made a choice - which is very much what the card symbolises.
