A little photo tutorial on how to refill a zippo! Step one: make sure you have your materials including the proper fluid. You don't need to use a zippo brand I just like it the best
Step two: open up the lighter and remove it from its casing. It might take some wiggling but never use pliers.
Step three: pull up the fabric on the bottom of the lighter. You should see some cotton ball looking material inside. If you don't have any in your lighter you must have it for the fluid to stay in your lighter!
Step four: pour the liquid for ten Mississippis onto the cotton material. Try not to get it anywhere else.
Step five: push the fabric covering back to its original position and flipped it over. See that little metal bitty sticking out? Flick it forward.
Step six: turn your lighter upside down and rest it gently in its casing. This just makes the liquid move faster through the cotton.
Step seven: after you have waited a minute or so, flip it right side up, pop the little metal peice back outward and try it out. If it doesn't work, flip it upside down and wait a little longer. If it still doesn't work, repeat the process.
Be careful of overfilling for obvious flammable reasons! If the lid lights on fire for a second when you light it again, you have overfilled the lighter and need to wait about an hour to let some of the fluid dissipate.
Also fun fact! I bought this lighter for my Dean cosplay from supernatural. It was one of the only zippo's I could find a screenshot for.
