Welcome to the December edition of the Supernatural Writing Challenge. This challenge is open to all writers from the Supernatural fandom; this includes fan fiction authors and poets. This month’s theme is happy holidays; you can expect prompts like hot chocolate, caroling, snow, and mistletoe.
Send an ask to the Supernatural Writing Challenge blog saying “I wish to participate in SWC”.
Consider tracking the tag, “spnwritingchallenge” and following the challenge blog.
If you enjoy writing fan fiction or poetry, possibly consider entering the Supernatural Writers Collective.
Enter until midnight (EST) November 30th.
There isn’t a word limit. You are free to write as little or as much as you want within the month.
You are free to interpret the prompt in any way you want. We’re all about expression, and we want you to follow whatever route your muse takes!
You can write about any ship or pairing OR no ship at all - general fics are welcome, too!
There is also no ruling on smut or triggering topics. Just make sure to tag ships and any trigger warnings appropriately when you post.
Must post your writing submission by midnight (EST) December 31st!
Once the entry period is finished, the admins will randomly place entrants into pairs.
You will receive an ask the first few days of the month detailing your prompt and partner.
When you post your fic, make sure to tag “spnwritingchallenge” and the name of your partner within the first five tags.
Make sure to also tag any trigger warnings and pairings.
It is important that you format your fic post properly. You can find out how to do that here.
Your piece of writing will be reblogged to the challenge blog.
This is not a competition. It is an exercise made to challenge writers and help them to improve (or just to showcase their ability). It’s meant to be fun!
That’s it! If you have any questions, feel free to send a message to the challenge blog and one of the admins will get back to you :)
