The Big Event

Hello hello!

August is here, we are in it, it is happening, which can only mean one thing: it’s August. But more importantly, it means there are two months left until October 2nd AKA the day of The Big Event. For those of you who were around last year you’ll remember the first ever Big Event on this blog, but seeing as the population of followers has quadrupled since then I should probably explain.

The Big Event is an event here on SpockFacts in which people share their creations! Fanart, fanfics, headcanons, whatever you want! Simply submit it to the blog and on October 2nd they’ll all be posted, making a day-long event of creator appreciation here in the Star Trek fandom. Then, at the end of the day, I hold an ask party in which you can ask me, Golyadkin (SpockFacts creator), anything your heart desires!

Last year the event was announced a month prior on September 2nd, but this year I thought it might be helpful to give more forewarning so you have ample time to prepare anything you feel like sharing! Anything that will be posted needs to be submitted by midnight EST on October 1st. All of it will be tagged “#The Big Event” so you can follow or blacklist as you see fit :)

Recently there was a surge of creativity in the name of make trek not war created by @adenil-umano and it’s been a thrill to see that spark of passion and positivity return to the community (shout out to adenil for their awesome campaign!). I would like this years Big Event to be considered a contribution to that movement (certainly it should hold the same positive attitude and purpose!) assuming I have permission, of course.

The only requests I have for submissions is no Jimothy posts (they’re fun individually, but I can’t clog up the whole Event with them) and keep it within the realm of Star Trek. Aside from that everything is free game! I can’t wait to see all the wonderful content you create!

tl;dr October 2nd will be a day for showcasing Trek creators’ work here on SpockFacts and you’re all invited! So get creating and get ready for the second annual Big Event!
