Right now I have one completed smut but I'm lowkey struggling on my second one😓 Do you have any specific tips for writing them??
Like I feel so awkward just describing the moment, everyone told me to focus on the sensation but how am I supposed to do that when I don't even know what the characters are doing 🥹🥹
Honestly, my biggest advice is to become a gooner. Sounds silly, but I think it works. Believe it or not, I'm the biggest virgin there is, but I manage to write smut decently cuz I'm a gooner!
Consume smut! Read how they describe actions and the vocabulary they use! I think most of the time, writing smut scenes isn't just about describing what they're doing to each other, but about how the characters feel. Which leads us to the next reason to become a gooner!
Read hentai and/or watch porn. Don't know what the characters are doing? Visualize it! It helps describe the scene when writing! Like, describe how cum runs down their thighs, and how the character can feel its warmth as it runs down! It allows you to visualize things you might not have thought of before, to describe them! Honestly, visualizing it would def help with focusing on the sensation, because then you know the parts of the body that are affected to describe! Does that make sense??
Also, reading/watching smut will give you new ideas of kinks, positions, and sometimes plots!
It's very normal to feel awkward writing/describing smut! I was like that at first too! I kept whining to my mutual, " Why does writing smut feel so cringe/weird?" and eventually that feeling went away. Trying new things will always make us uncomfortable, but the more you write, the easier it gets!
