My Beloved Art Café

Every time, I traveled many places The places that I’ve usually love But one day, I’ve stumbled upon in between There’s a certain café I discovered: An art café that usually loved by millennials A place for people who are obsessed with art and coffee.

Then, the waiter comes around and asked me, “What’s your order, sir?” I’ve checked out their menu and I chose an Espresso And while I’ve been waiting for my order, I brought up my laptop and a bunch of thesis papers But, do I look like those students who are doing reviews? Of course, there’s a difference in-between: Students, office workers, and somebody whose hanging out Many faces, many familiar friends And I thought I was just the only one knows

The next day I visited the café, I met someone else A girl who is so shy and very confused where she goes I asked her to share with my seat And both of us were asked by the waiter, “What’s your order, Ma’am? Sir?” Both of us said: “Cappuccino!” Then we stared at each other, even in our eyes And later, we talked to each other About our personal favorites and quotes But, the girl convinced me with a question: “Are you single, or in a relationship?” And then, I replied “Yes. I’m single.” Later, her phone rings and needs to go home But not before I asked her for a date And she said: “Yes. See you in a few days. Same café.”

One night at the same café, there was an open mic event where my friends are hosting I was convinced by them to join the session Then I said, “Why not?” Before I’m preparing for my performance, I ordered Latte A few minutes later, the girl I met before was here as well She thinks about her own future And she came to me saying, “Hey, this is our date night, remember?” I replied, “Oh! I almost forgot. You should text me” Then we talked for a few minutes before it’s my turn onstage Afterwards, she left again but the show goes on I felt like I was too selfish when I’m being a loner But then again, time will pass by.

Since after the night, I never came back I was on multiple activities for my workspace While at the café, the girl that I met was worried about me She sent an important message to me on Messenger And after my work, I received a text from her She convinced me to drop-by at the café I didn’t decide yet if I should go on… or just ignore But my hand starts to shake and freezing Until I realize… That love will overcome selfish So, I decided to go back to the café Packing up some stuff and other things Then commuting to EDSA, to Ortigas, to C-5… However, when I finally came back to the art café, She was apparently gone. But only to be found out that… She was behind me… with a pair of Macchiato Then we had to talk and talk again about everything But there’s only one question that I didn’t ask her: “What’s your name?” She replied: “Yvonne” Afterwards, the music starts to play in the background Now that both of us are in a complicated relationship, Our beloved art café will always be our favorite place.
