Welcome to spongerard!
✭ I (Louise @h0useofw0lves, hi) created this as a fun lil way to combine my two favourite things 💃🪸
✭ Submissions are open and encouraged! Learn more here!
✭ I have an unnecessarily thorough tagging system that you can explore here!
✭ I try to be diligent with my sourcing, you can find a detailed explanation of my methods here
✭ I also try my best with writing image descriptions, but I admit I'm not the best with words. I am very open to feedback and am willing to make changes! Descriptions can always be found in the image alt text :)
✭ This blog is a sinister way to get people to learn more about sponges disguised as an mcr gimmick account. Have fun while you're here!
Sourcing info!
✭ Gerard photos have been passed around on the internet such that their original sources get lost like a game of telephone, though I do want to give credit whenever possible. Posts that include photos I don’t have a source for will be tagged #uncredited gerard, and if anyone knows of a source that I’m missing please lmk!
✭ I plan on sourcing sponge photos from iNaturalist, which are published with CC BY-NC licenses, allowing them to be used for non-commercial purposes (such as this) with credit given to the creator (as will be done via hyperlinks in the image caption, and in the alt text of the picture). iNaturalist is an awesome resource for learning about the species we cohabitate with, in your area and around the world! Its data is made up of observations shared by nature lovers just like you and me, and it’s super easy to participate! You can learn more about it here!
