The ones on screen never really made him jump, half seemed to be expecting them. Physically ones however.
Well.
Hefty swing on that right hand.
Those new cat ears shot up from their hidden state, tail bristled to full puff. His heart was pounding against his ribcage with a harshness. Startled, definitely. frightened, maybe?
More so when realization dawned and the first swear of the week fell from his mouth. The dread overcoming the first feeling.
It's a devastatingly strong right hook. If what he hit wasn't broken before, it was now. And probably very broken. Replace rather than repair the situation for sure.
