5. Meet a banshee or a kelpie?
"Oh, that's easy, I'd rather meet the Banshee. Sure, she might look terrifying but all she does is warn you of a death. Not necessarily of your own, or a family member's but someone's. And I can prepare for that. Much better to be visited by an omen, than an aquatic murder-horse that'll drown me and/or eat my liver."
7. Anger a ghost or be hunted by a werewolf?
"Werewolf, without a doubt. A ghost can turn invisible, possess things, and require a time-consuming ritual more often than not to stop the haunting- and even then it's a fifty-fifty shot. Now a werewolf? It's a fast, lumbering powerhouse of a predator- and real easy to counter. Number one, silver. Always good to have on hand, easy enough to procure- just look for reflective antiques, easy enough. Or wolfsbane. You can find it in most any large botanical garden or failing that, some Asiatic combination mysticism and medicine shop. If it's a Sicilian or Arabic werewolf? Lightly stab it three times in the scalp. Danish? Literally just tell it it's being a bad dog. And the last three will cure it, not just stop it from attacking you in the immediate."
