Boogiepop and Others (2019) Episode 8
don't chase the rabbit
" Is it cold in Alaska? "
Experience can tell how the young girl didn’t have a single familiarity with airplanes, in fact this was the first time she headed up somewhere else in such private behavior. Skies were tinted with a welcoming morning, eyes tired for a trip she never expected to go through yet she tries with all her might to remain awake due a curiosity and somehow anxiety that cannot let her be lulled into complete slumber.
Head bowed down, fingers laced with each other nervously whilst attempting to muster up a courage that easily slipped away with every passing second knowing she was being observed by Coyote Tango’s pilot who calmly replied her inquires.
"You don’t have to drive a Jaeger anymore?" “What do they want you to do here?” And so on.
This man, Stacker Pentecost; was no stranger entirely, his relaxed factions made a great contradiction with the warmth smile that he offered when she was found and she was unsure of how to act completely. It may be the bitter taste left within this sudden realization, being adopted by him was peculiar to say even in her mind as it accompanied the painful reality she must accept.
At least it was better than the orphanage or Papa’s family, they were very mean with Mama after all…
'Tokyo's daughter' was a title not meant to be earned, though a miracle along the lines it can be obvious how painful was to be known due this. Though her struggle alone is not easy to perceive, it was a weird change considering that it was foreign to enact in such cold way. Her obscure irises peered up to meet with Stacker's face after an exchange of questions and answer, daring to mention something that has picked up her interest for a while rather than discussing directly about this uncertain future her life will lead on— will she ever be able to drive a Jaeger too like him?

Wood clattered against the stone wall, the scaling ladder placed promptly upon it as the yells of men erupted behind the young woman. Encouragement, soldiers who were invigorated by the very chance of success so that they may retrieve their stolen lands from the thieves. They had come knocking upon the doors of Jargeau, quaking the very minds of those who had become so haughty.
Many more were thrust upon the wall, the virgin maid beginning to ascend boldly with little fear. Determination was aflame in the very lavender of her hues, even upon the sight of the incoming projectile. Metal clattered as it crashed into her cranium, toppling the petite woman backward so that she lay motionless upon the mud and filth. The stone split in two, laying to each side as she lay momentarily still.
A throb in her temples, gauntlet raising to rest upon the dented diadem that had protected her miraculously. Blonde tufts were brushed aside as she stood, refusing the aid of her troops. There was an uncanny silence amid the chaotic field of battle, an arm thrown out as she allowed her voice to bellow the very words of inspiration that they had once bellowed as she climbed.
"Onward, onward! Do not give up—!"

Today was an important date. It was graduation day for the seniors of Gekkoukan High. Fuuka had a feeling that there was something else of importance happening today, but she couldn't put her finger on it. The second-year decided she wouldn't let herself over-think it, and paid attention to the principal's speech in the assembly hall. At the end of it, one of the teachers announced the name of the Student Council President and valedictorian: Mitsuru Kirijo. She was a very influential girl at Gekkoukan, and lived in the same dorm Fuuka did. She looked up to her.
Her speech reminisced on her first one, presented at the beginning of the academic year. It then cut off in the middle, as she was telling everyone of her father's death.
"...Sudden illness?" She put on a confused tone, as if she wasn't quite sure of it. But, why did Fuuka have the same feeling? She didn't know the male Kirijo, so why was she so uneasy?
And then it hit her. Yukari, Akihiko, Junpei and herself suddenly stood, stumbling across their words. They remember.
Mitsuru-san continued her speech, proudly stating that she had such wonderful friends, and ran down the aisle once it was complete. The teal-haired girl and the others followed her to the roof. They were supposed to meet each other there on graduation once everything was finally over.
They reached the rooftop, and Fuuka called out to Aigis, who was sitting on a bench, with Minato-san, laying on her lap. He wasn't sitting up. Maybe he couldn't hear her voice?
