Summary: You're in a situationship with Oscar, not sure if you want to be official. Inspired by 3:15 by Russ.
All I ever tried to do was help you understand and grow
Light the way for truths that if not for me simply wouldn't show
'Less you get somebody else who's on my level, but you know
That there's no one on my level, you gon' realize if you don't
I wish you would own up to your flaws
And just say that you're wrong when you're wrong
Instead of actin' like you're right, then it turns into a fight
Now you're stormin' out my house in the middle of the night
“What's on your mind?,” Oscar interrupted your few kisses.
You were currently all over him in your bedroom, as usually. You pecked his soft lips one more time and sighed “I don't think you should do it tomorrow.” you spoke softly.
Your lover's dark eyes looked at you for a few seconds before he frowned “Don't start this shit again.”
The anger about the same situation started to boil within you, so you got off of Oscar and laid on your back.
“What is your problem?” you spat at him.
The sudden tension in the room was obvious. He suddenly sat on the edge of your bed and gave you an intimidating look over his right.
“I don't think we're close enough to have this kind of conversation!”
“Wow.” You didn't know how else to react. He was obviously refering to the fact that you weren't sure how to label your 'thing'. You cared, a lot. But he was part of a gang and you cared too much about other people's opinions too.
“I think you should go home. ”you let out bluntly without thinking.
He turned his head away from you and let out a dry laugh “You know.... I fucking might!” and stormed off.
***
How come when I love somebody, part of me don't wanna stay?
Every time I get too close, I just start pushing them away
I know, I know
Maybe I just wanna leave before they try to leave me first
Maybe I don't wanna need 'em 'til they say they need me first
I know, I know (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Damned if I do, damned if I don't
Drank Tequila, I can't drive home
Hard to play cool, heart belongs to you
I know that if I show that
I keep my walls up, if you want me then you better start to climb
WoMen who love me aren't rare
WoMen who mean it hard to find
Somethin' tells me that I'm right about you
Please, don't prove me wrong
They say love's a song for fools
We're wise enough to sing along
“Back off!” you raised your voice and pushed the guy to the side. You were frustraded, ended up at someone's houseparty, drank enough Tequila to not drive home by yourself, but not enough to forget about Os. The porch made an exceptable place to sit down for a bit and re-think your previous thoughts. You wanted him. All to yourself. So you took all your courage and dialed his number.
Oscar picked up after a while, but did not say anything. You could just see the seconds of the phonecall on your screen.
“Can you pick me up?” you asked carefully.
You could hear him sigh into the phone. “Where are you?”
***
It took about 20 minutes until you could see the familiar red car pull into the street. You slowly got up and neared yourself the sidewalk.
The car came to stand right in front of you, but before you even had the chance to get in, your lover already got out. He stood right in front of you and looked deep into your eyes.
“You're in my head.” you said while pointing to your temple. The alcohol was definitely kicking.
His eyes softened and you felt like there was a slight smile on his lips.
He took your hand in his and placed a soft kiss on it “Get in the car, Y/N. ”
You continued to stare into his eyes. “I want everyone to know about us. ”
His face seemed to light up a bit. He pulled you in and kissed your forehead before whispering in your ear “Get in babe, we'll talk about it tomorrow.”
But now it's hard to breathe
I'm not in love, it's just a game we do
I tell myself I'm not that into you
But I don't wanna sleep, it's quarter after three
And now it's hard to breathe
I'm not in love, it's just a thing we make
We're skin on skin, I need this spell to break, oh

masterlist
you spent the whole day receiving weird stares, feeling like everyone was talking about you. which was weird because no one ever talked about you. you walked outside over to where your friends sat eating lunch. you dropped your bag on the floor and your tray on the table.
"what the hell is up with everyone today?" you asked cluelessly. you friends looked at you, wide eyed and clued up. you weren't paying attention, you shoved a fry in your mouth, glancing up to see your small group of friends all staring at you. "what?" you chuckled.
"is it true?" your friend on your left was the first to speak, the others still sat with wide eyes and open jaws. jesus. what was wrong with them.
"is what true?" you continued to shovel fries in your mouth, assuming they were messing with you about something. you never suspected them to be thinking what they were really thinking.
"you and spooky?" you furrowed your eyebrows hearing his name, you stopped munching on your lunch. you and oscar were friends. your little brother ruby, was friends with his little brother cesar. so naturally you saw oscar a lot, he was always dropping cesar at your house and vice versa. he was nicer than people thought, he definitely wasn't spooky. that was a load of crap.
"what-- oscar? oscar diaz?" you clarified.
"obviously," she scoffed in disbelief. "you really have no idea?"
you looked puzzled between your friends who wore the same expression still. you were confused. "i don't understand."
"he claimed you."
"he— what?" you choked on a fry you'd just popped into your mouth, coughing and hacking as you tried to compose yourself. after a big gulp of water you let your jaw hang open. "he claimed me?"
"you didn't know?" your friend frowned. "it's all anyones been talking about all day."
that explained the whispers and the stares. but it didn't explain why oscar did it. you were just friends. or so you thought.
they all began to bombard you with questions about oscar. you blurred out the noise though. you didn't understand any of this. none of it made sense. oscar wouldn't just claim you. he's never even insinuated that he likes you like that. he was always friendly, and sure you liked him, but that didn't mean he could just claim you. you had to speak to him.
"is he good in bed?" you snapped out of your daze, frowning.
"we're not together." you shook your head. "i don't know who started this shit— but we're just friends."
you sighed, remaining silent for the rest of your lunch period. your friends got that you didn't want to talk about it and moved on. but you couldn't stop thinking about it.
straight after school finished you headed straight for oscar's house. you had to clear this up. you couldn't go around with people thinking you'd been claimed by a santo. it was ridiculous. it wasn't a long walk, you knew the route pretty well since ruby spent most of his time with his dumb friends.
you saw a few santos members hanging around outside his house as you got closer. you gulped, eyeing them up as you came up the path. no sign of oscar.
"have you seen spooky?" you questioned. you saw a few smirks, lingering eyes. you felt a little uncomfortable, you didn't really know oscars friends that well, you just saw them around the block a lot.
"he's inside, nena." you nodded, ignoring the pet name. you walked through the group of guys, ignoring the stares as you did, and up to the front door and knocking pretty loud.
the door swung open moments later, oscar standing in front of you now. you pushed passed him and came inside, eager to get out of the other santos members earshot. oscar scoffed, a small smirk on his lips. "come in."
you were pretty annoyed now that you were looking at him with your own eyes. now that you'd seen the way the santos were acting around you. it was making you mad. you never asked for any of this.
he could tell you were angry. "what's up, nena?"
"don't call me that," you snapped, harsher than you intended to come across. your mind was moving too fast. you didn't even know whether the rumours were true. he might not have done anything. oscar raised his eyebrows, taken back by your tone. "what the hell was that?" you pointed to where the santos where sat outside. "and what the hell are you doing telling people you've claimed me?"
his smirk drooped a little, but was still there. you crossed your arms over your chest. so it was true! he had no right to do that. no wonder the santos where looking at you like a piece of meat, no wonder people were whispering about you all day at school. everyone thought you were a whore. you couldn't even begin to imagine what kind of shit he'd been telling his friends about you. you didn't want to think about it. you were pissed.
"we're friends, oscar," you exclaimed. "you can't just tell people i belong to you now because you felt like it. that's fucked up." you raised your eyebrows, the strain on your face showing. he didn't react so much as he just ducked his head, wearing a sly smirk.
"y/n—" he tried to speak but you quickly cut him off. you hadn't gotten all of your anger out of your system. you wanted to wipe the smirk off his face.
"no— you don't understand," you frowned, you walked closer to him, having previously been on opposite sides of the room. "people are talking shit about me. i know because even my friends were dying to know just how big of a whore i am now that i've been claimed. by you." your breathing was heavy now, his smirk was fading the more you spoke. "it's not the same for you. you claim me. you get all the credit right? your friends big you up. you feel secure in your masculinity. but for me— i'm suddenly a massive whore."
"you're not a whore." was all he said.
"i know that!" you raised your voice. "but everyone thinks i am— your boys outside were practically undressing me with their eyes— so don't tell me you haven't been telling them lies about me." you were furious with him. he had no right to go and treat you like this. you thought you were friends. you might of even had a little crush on him, but that was gone now. how could someone be so nice to you and then go ahead and talk about you like this.
"they what?" he frowned. he didn't look like he had any clue what you were talking about. "if they said anything to you—"
"are you even listening to me?" you sighed. "why did you claim me? i thought we were friends." you furrowed your brows. oscar was standing pretty close to you now. he could see how heavy you were breathing after you'd gotten all that off your chest.
"i had to," he said briefly at first. you folded your arms across your chest ready to go off on him again but he touched your arm. "just let me explain— ok?" you took a step back, letting his hand drop from your arm, but you remained quiet, ready to pick apart whatever bullshit excuse he had made up. "i never said a word about you— promise," his expression was pretty neutral. you couldn't tell whether he was lying or not. "whatever people are talkin' about is bullshit, ma."
you nodded, hesitantly taking his word for it. you were still pretty mad though. he still claimed you, you had no say in the matter. he didn't put it past you. he never confessed anything to you. out of nowhere. no guys would ever talk to you again once they found out spooky of all people had claimed you.
"i was just tryna' keep you safe," you furrowed your brows. you weren't in danger. "we've been hanging out more and more. the homies noticed you. no doubt people would find out we're close sooner or later. if something happened to you because of me— i couldn't live with myself."
your breath caught in your throat when you felt him hand touch your face. his fingers traced along your jawline. you frowned, pulling away confused. "wait— what?" where was this coming from? oscar was always so calm and collected around you. you hung out but he never showed any signs. and believe me, you were looking for them.
"i like you, alright?" he huffed, embarrassed he had to spell it out for you. "don't be mad at me."
"i'm not mad at you," you mumbled. "anymore, anyway," you both stood still in front or each other. he raised an eyebrow. you rolled your eyes. "maybe a little."
he breathed a quiet laugh. "m'sorry you had to go through that today. i should've told you before i did anything."
"yeah you should've," you agreed. he seemed pretty sincere but you didn't know how to react. you just stood quietly in front of him, trying to think of something to say. "sorry i shouted at you."
"i deserved it."
you nodded. "yeah, you kinda did." he smiled, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders, but you were still confused. you had a little crush on him, you knew that, but you never thought he felt the same. you were convinced he didn't feel the same. so this changed things. you were suddenly nervous, unsure how to act around him. you hadn't done this so much before. you bit your lip, avoiding his intense stare. you didn't know what to do.
"y'don't feel the same?" he mumbled, disheartened. you snapped out of the daze you'd put yourself in by trying to think what to say. you felt so different so quickly. five minutes ago you could've said anything to him, now you didn't know.
you shook your head. "no— i do— i mean— i don't know—" you stopped yourself, ducking your head. you were really bad at this. you'd lost any sense of comfort you felt being around him. he was making you nervous, he wouldn't stop staring at you. you huffed, running your hand through your hair and turning away from him. "stop looking at me for two seconds, please, so i can think."
you heard a quiet laugh come from him behind you. you ran your hand over your face, you were embarrassing yourself. you just needed to talk to him as if you were still friends. "i do like you. i just didn't think you liked me, so i didn't think about it and now you just went and said that— and claimed me— and i'm— i—"
"it's too much." you sighed, nodding, thankful he'd taken the words out of your mouth.
"i don't think you wanna claim me, oscar," you had turned back to face him again. you were standing further apart now. you didn't know how to read his expression, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips pulled taught. "i know how you are with girls and i don't think i fit your usual type."
he watched you rambling away, trying to talk yourself out of it before anything had happened. oscar moved closer to you, he grabbed your hand and this time you let him hold it instead of pulling away. your eyebrows were furrowed.
"we can take it slow," he reassured you. you took a deep breath, not expecting this reaction from him. you were sure you had scared him off with all your doubts and your talking. you'd never been in a serious relationship before. this was pretty new to you. you were so sure oscar wasn't the type to take it slow and develop feelings just for one girl, that you'd tried to talk him out of it before anything started. "i don't mind."
he tugged your hand, pulling you closer to him. he held both your hands now, his face inches away, he could feel your heavy breaths on his skin. you nodded, softly. "y'sure?"
he nodded. "believe it or not, i've had my eye on you for a while," you found it hard to believe but he was so sincere all the time he was talking to you, you had no choice but to believe him. "mami, you're the funniest, smartest and the finest girl i've seen in a long time— i've only got eyes for you. we don't gotta rush anything."
your heart was beating out of your chest. he was looking at you a certain way, you were practically melting. you opened your mouth to reply but nothing came out at first. a smile broke on his face, pulling away from you for a second. you couldn't help but smile too. how your mood had changed so quickly was baffling.
"do you realise what my friends are gonna say when they find out?" you scoffed, still kind of finding it hard to accept that oscar of all people was acting like this towards you. he laughed at your comment. you thought again. "what will your friends say?"
"mami, i claimed you. if anyone gives you any trouble. let me know." you nodded. you gulped at the pet name.
"yeah about that," you untangled your hands from his and poked his chest. "if you get to claim me, then i get to claim you too. on principle."
he tried to hide the smile on his face, nodding, agreeing with your terms. "fine by me."
"ok." you nodded.
"ok." he crossed his arms over his chest. you suddenly felt much more relaxed than you had before. things were starting to feel like they did before any of this was out in the open. you were happy. you smiled. "te ves bonita cuando sonríes."
you hummed a quiet thanks. your cheeks tinted, involuntarily. you tried to disguise it but it was hard. he was so good at this. you felt like an amateur. oscar just chuckled, placing to hands on your hips and pulling you against him. you wrapped two arms around his neck, standing on your tiptoes so you could reach. you didn't realise just how much taller he was than you till now. he squeezed you tight and you laughed, pulling away from him. without thinking about it, he pressed his lips against your forehead. your hands moved from his neck to either side of his face. he had the nicest brown eyes you ever saw. you wanted to kiss him but something stopped you. you smiled softly, standing on your tiptoes once more to kiss his cheek.
you'd had a whirlwind of a day but you were pretty happy with how it turned out. you had a lot coming your way but you felt a little better knowing oscar would be there to defend you every step of the way.

masterlist - PART ONE
A/N: I changed the timeline of the show a bit and some of the details a bit. Just one more part after this one!
I had spent the following days ignoring Oscar’s countless calls and text messages. I found it convenient he only knew how to contact me when he wanted talk to me. Especially when, for the first week he was back, he didn’t say a word to me apart from our interaction when I dropped Cesar off.
I was enjoying having space from him, as hurt as I still was. However, I found myself having to see him again when Cesar asked me to drop off the last of his things. Normally I would have made him come and pick it up himself, but ever since Oscar got back he had been keeping a close eye on Cesar.
“Y/n,” Oscar huffed when he opened the door to me.
I looked away and clutched the box of Cesar’s things closer to my chest. I could tell he hadn’t slept for a while. His eyes were sunken and his beard had grown out to the point where it was unruly. Nonetheless, I told him I didn’t want to anything to do with him, and so I was gonna stick by that.
“I’m so glad you’re here-”
“I’m not here for you, pendejo,” I muttered harshly at him with a straight face. I then shoved past him and walked into his house. It was messier than normal. Placing the box on the coffee table, I turned back to Oscar who was sheepishly quiet. “Cesar asked me to drop off the rest of his things.”
Oscar coughed uncomfortably as I opened the box and pulled out sheets of paper; Cesar’s medical certificates from the past four years. When I looked back at him, he held the back of his neck, confusion washing over his expression.
“I didn’t realise he stayed with you the whole time I was gone.”
“Hmph-” I scoffed. For a man as smart and as calculating as Oscar was, he could be really clueless at time. I shook my head and sighed in annoyance. “You trusted me with him, remember?... Unlike you, I actually have a sense of loyalty.”
“Y/n-”
“Why else did you think I dropped him off when you got here?” I asked incredulously. It was comical at this point. How little attention he paid to the things I did for him. Taking Cesar in was only one of many. “’Cause it sure as hell wasn’t that hyna you slept with last week.”
I didn’t mean to be so snide but I had a lot of pent up anger.
“Y/n-”
Before he could mumble another empty apology, I handed him the papers in my hand before explaining to him what they were. From the confused look he had when skimming through it, I could tell he needed the explanation.
“Those are Cesar’s medical certificates from the past few years,” I began, before fishing through his box for the epipen I got him. Once retrieving it, I handed it to Oscar who still looked confused. “That’s his epipen. He’s never had to use one himself, but he knows how to... just in case. We found out last year that he’s allergic to shellfish.”
He flipped onto the next few pages, nodding silently as I explained what was written.
“Him and Ruby broke their arms that month,” I explained when I noticed the date written on the page he was reading. I suppressed the smile threatening to appear on my lips when I remembered the ridiculous situation they were in that led to their injuries. “It should be fully healed, but just in case he injures that arm again it might be important.”
“Uhm-” Oscar shook his head, dumbfounded, before turning to me, expression still ridden with confusion. “How did you-”
“The doctor I take Ruby to is a family friend,” I interrupted. “I started taking Cesar there too when he was staying with us... If he ever needs to see one, just let me know and I can take him.”
Oscar nodded sheepishly, before putting his hand down. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly before turning to me again; his expression apologetic.
“...Thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me,” I shot back in an even tone. My love and adoration for Cesar was not going to be a leeway for him to try and charm his way back into my life. “Cesar’s always been my family. This is just what you do for the people you care about... Maybe you should try it some time.”
“Y/n-”
I rolled my eyes and turned towards the corridor. The last time I walked down that hall was when Oscar was leading me into his bedroom. I missed the way he was that night, but I was sick of waiting around for that version of him to appear.
“Cesar,” I called out. Within a minute, Cesar’s bedroom door shot open and he made his way over to me, a grateful smile apparent on his face. Granted, it had been a while since I last saw him. After greeting me with a hug, I opened up the flaps of the cardboard box so he could see what was inside. “I brought the rest of your stuff... If you need anything else just call me okay?”
“Thank you, Y/n,” he praised, before lifting the box up to eventually take back to his room. I smiled and wrapped my arm around his shoulder, pulling him in for a side-hug.
I contemplated hanging around for a bit longer, but I knew it was best to leave as soo as Cesar got his box of belongings. The longer I stayed the more I risked having to talk to Oscar for longer and I knew better than to let that happen.
As angry as I was at him, I still cared too much. Sticking around would not only risk another conversation, it would risk me forgiving too easily like I always used to do. I didn’t want that anymore.
***
A few days or so later, Ruby had asked me to make some food for him and his friends. Normally I would have pried him on what was going on before agreeing to do so, but I was grateful to have something to keep me busy.
I tried so hard not to think about Oscar, but it wasn’t exactly easy forgetting someone I spent most of my whole life with. He sure made it look easy.
“Olivia,” I called out to my pseudo-cousin and handed her the bowl of nachos I had made. She took it from me and awaited my instructions on where to put it. “Place this on the table please?”
After she did so I turned back to the rest of the food I had made. I had tried so hard to distract myself, I ended up making enough food to last the rest of the week.
Nonetheless, I knew it would be put to good use. Not only because of how many people lived in my house, but also because of how many people walked in and out of it like it was an alleyway.
Ruby and Jamal were on the couch rambling on about taking precautions for future litigations, whilst Monse and Jasmine were just walking out of Olivia’s room. The two of them came and helped put the rest of the food out, which prompted Jasmine to fill the uncomfortable silence with uncomfortable commentary in her own infamously unique way.
“Y/n, I heard how you kicked Spooky to the curb-”
“Jasmine,” Monse scolded.
Ever since the kids heard about my falling out with Oscar they made it a point not to bring him up in front of me. I appreciated them for doing so, but I also didn’t mind hearing him be brought up by Jasmine, because I knew she would have something snide to say about the way he acted. I could always count on her for that.
“What? I just wanna say good for you,” Jasmine said, smiling at me as she draped her arm around my shoulder. “Ain’t no Santos gonna come up in here and treat our girl like shit- Y/n knows her worth.”
I couldn’t help but laugh, because I knew Jasmine was being sincere and I really appreciated her backing me up in such a vocal and vivacious manner.
“Thank you, Jasmine,” I smiled, before placing the bowl of ceviche on the table so I could give her a hug.
Jamal and Ruby stood up from the couch, eyes widening when they saw all the food laid out on the table. Ruby picked up his phone to check his messages, before turning back to the rest of us.
“Cesar’s almost here.”
After a moment, police sirens sounded throughout our block. Normally we wouldn’t think much of it since this was a typical thing for Freeridge, but when we could hear helicopters, we knew something serious was happening.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Ruby went to open it and I kept a close eye on who was there. When he pulled it open, I saw Oscar and Cesar standing at the door, each with a bowl in their hands.
“One of the homies got shot,” Oscar explained before walking in with Cesar.
I cursed under my breath, knowing this meant we all had to stay inside until the cops said it was okay to leave. This meant that Oscar would have stick around for an indefinite amount of time.
“I brought guacamole,” Cesar explained as he handed me the bowl he held.
I smiled and accepted it graciously, before greeting him with a hug. Ever since he got jumped into los Santos and went from being affiliated to becoming a member, he didn’t hang around my house as often as before.
“Thank you so much, Cesar,” I replied, making a point not to look Oscar in the eye who stood awkwardly beside Cesar, as if he was waiting for me to acknowledge him. When I moved past him to get the jug of lemonade I had made, he stood to face me from the opposite side of the kitchen bench.
“I-I brought ceviche-”
“I already made ceviche,” I fired back, before going back to the table and placing the jug of lemonade on the table.
“We can just have more ceviche then.”
“Some of us are loyal to one ceviche,” I replied, knowing that at the point I wasn’t talking about ceviche. In all honesty, I was grateful he brought more because I missed his famous ceviche, but I would never admit that.
“Huh?”
Oscar was not catching on, but from the quiet snickering in the back, I knew the kids had already picked up on what I was referring to.
“Some of us don’t just eat one ceviche then throw it away so we can eat another... but of course you wouldn’t think the same.”
He didn’t have anything to say in response.
“Why don’t we just start eating?” Ruby suggested. He seemed both concerned about me and eager to diffuse the tension.
“She didn’t mean anything.” Oscar seemingly had other ideas and took an awfully long time to come up with a response. I narrowed my eyes at him warningly, but he continued. “Lo prometo, Y/n, it didn’t mean anything and if could take it back I would.”
“Well you can’t,” I retorted.
The kids moved to where the sofa was, not wanting to get in the middle of what was on its way to becoming a screaming match.
“Tell me what you want,” Oscar said in a pleading yet aggressive tone. I scoffed and shook my head as tears began to brim in my eyes. “Just tell me how to fix this, and I’ll do it-”
“You can’t fix this,” I yelled, frustrated not only by how angry he was making me but by how simple he was making out the situation to seem.
“Don’t say that-”
“No, shut up,” I shouted, causing the kids’ eyes to widen in shock. Almost everyone on our block was terrified to so much as raise their voice or make eye contact with Oscar, but I wasn’t everyone else. “You’re the one who slept with another girl. I’m not gonna stand here and tell you how to fix something you did- figure it out for yourself.”
I couldn’t bear being around him for much longer, so I stormed off and locked myself in my room. I didn’t come out until I was certain that Oscar had left.
***
The following day was Halloween and my mom entrusted me with my twin siblings. Ruby and his friends had told me they were planning on heading out to Brentwood, so I told them I would drop them off and take the twins on a different route within the same neighbourhood.
“I’m gonna take the twins down there,” I explained to Ruby, before turning to the rest of the kids. “Be safe and be back here before ten.”
They all nodded before proceeding to go their separate ways.
Ruby had devised a plan to maximise the amount of candy they would have by the end of the night and, knowing him, he would throw a fit if the others didn’t follow it accordingly.
Once I started heading down the pavement with my siblings clutching onto each of my hands, I felt my phone vibrating in the back pocket of my jeans. Letting go of Luis’ hand, I pulled out my phone to answer it, only to hear my mother asking me a million questions at once.
“Yes, ma,” I groaned, subconsciously letting go of Luisa’s hand as well to get a better grip of my phone. “Yes we’re fine... We’ll be home soon.”
“Are the twins okay?”
“Yes,” I droned, growing annoyed at how much my mom worried even though I had been looking after my younger siblings for most of their life. This changed, however, when I looked down and realised that not only had I let go of both their hands, but they were nowhere in sight. “I gotta go, Ma, I’ll see you at home.”
In hindsight, it wasn’t wise to keep the fact that I lost my twin siblings from our mother, but it was my first instinct. Somehow, I knew I would eventually find them in a neighbourhood I had rarely been to prior to that night.
“Luisa!... Luis!” I called out, but to no avail. Suddenly the thought of something bad happening to them began to sunk in and I began to panic.
I spent the following half hour calling their names as I ran along the streets of Brentwood. It wasn’t until I reached the end of a cul-de-sac that I saw a familiar car and realised that they were sitting on the bonnet.
Running down the street, I shoved my way past a crowd of people who looked like they were coming out from the house that the familiar vehicle was parked in front of. Once I got there, I realised the vehicle was in fact Oscar’s car, and that it was him standing by it while my twin siblings sat on his bonnet and appeared to be taking turns as playing games on his phone.
Oscar looked up and saw me running, an expression of relief apparent on his face. Luisa, who had just finished having her turn on Oscar’s phone, also looked up and got off the bonnet so she could meet me half way.
“Gracias a dios,” I murmured under my breath as I held my baby sister close to chest. After I got to Luis, I placed Luisa back on the bonnet, before inspecting them both to see if they were injured in any way. “How many times have I told you not to run away from me.”
Luis handed Oscar his phone back before hugging me. The two of them mumbled an apology before getting back on the ground.
“You found them?” I asked, looking pointedly at Oscar, who nodded.
“I saw them sitting on the pavement on my way here,” he explained quietly.
“Thank you,” I whispered gratefully. He smiled before nodding again.
We hadn’t spoken since the day he came to my house. If he was still confused on what to do to make me not angry with him anymore, this was a pretty good start, but I wasn’t planning on telling him that.
Somehow, I felt he knew.
When the kids came out from the house, I took Ruby, the twins and Monse in my car, while Oscar to the other three in his. We agreed to meet back my house so the kids could split the candy they had which ended up being a lot, because apparently Oscar had scared the shit out of a white boy.
“I can’t believe you lost the twins,” Ruby said in a whispery yet judgemental tone. In his defense, the last time he took care of the twins, I scolded him for making Luisa’s sandwich incorrectly.
“Can we just agree not to tell mom?”
Ruby nodded instantly.
Once we got home, the kids ran inside to split the candy up, and I carried my younger siblings, who had fallen asleep on the car ride, inside and onto their beds. Afterwards, I went back outside to Oscar, who stood leaned against his car door. He looked deep in thought until he saw me approaching him.
“Thanks,” I said, not looking at him directly. I could see him beginning to smile in the corner of my eye. “- for finding the twins and for driving out to Brentwood for the kids... Olivia told me what happened.”
He nodded, chuckling softly as he thought back to the kid he most likely scarred for like tonight. After a prolonged moment of silent, he looked up and faced me, watching me intently as I stared into my house- smiling as I watched the kids freak out over the tower of chocolate bars they had to themselves.
“I’m really sorry, Y/n,” he whispered. I turned back to face him and I nodded once. I was tired of being angry at him. Just as well he was finally starting to act like the Oscar I knew and loved.
“I know,” I replied softly.
Oscar smiled gratefully. No snide remark. No sarcasm. No glaring. He seemed relieved that he was finally making some progress at fixing things between us.
And then he went and fucked it up.
Before I could register what he was trying to do, Oscar began leaning towards me, his hands finding their way onto my waist much too quickly for comfort. Just as our lips were about to touch, I wormed my way out of his grasp and took a step back.
“What are you doing?” I shrieked. He looked confused. He had been doing a lot of that lately. When he didn’t respond, I felt my anger towards him returning. “Oscar, do you like me like that or do you not?”
He remained silent.
“Because you kissed me the night before you left, then you came back and slept with someone else.” It felt good explaining to him why I was upset in the first place, but also frustrating that it wasn’t already clear enough.
I was grateful he found my twin siblings. I was grateful he stood up for the kids. Neither one of those actions, however, made clear to me whether or not he still liked me the way I liked him and I was sick of waiting around for him to let me know.
“I thought if I pushed you away, I’d be able to keep you safe.”
“What do you mean?” I asked in confusion. Oscar being a Santos never proved to be an issue when we were friends, I couldn’t understand why all of a sudden I needed to be protected.
“I didn’t think I was gonna get locked up, Y/n,” he explained with a pained expression. This was the first time we really talked about what had happened to him. “-but shit happened, and I lost my freedom for 4 years. I don’t want shit to happen and for you to get hurt because your involved with me... I’d rather go back to prison than let that happen.”
I should have known. Behind every stupid mistake Oscar made there was always an honourable reason. A noble logic. I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel relieved and almost touched that his actions were motivated by his love for me. But something was still not sitting well with me.
“Wait, so what you were gonna do after you kissed me? Just go back to treating me like shit so you can protect me?”
“I- I don’t know,” he spluttered, shoving his hands in his pocket and scratching the back of his neck.
“Oscar, I appreciate that you’re just trying to look out for me,” I whispered. He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, knowing that I had more to say. Knowing things weren’t going back to normal just yet. “But you don’t get to just kiss me when you want and then ignore me when you want... I want more than that... I deserve more than that.”
Tears began to brim in my eyes as I felt a lump come to my throat. Oscar inhaled sharply, acknowledging the truth in what I was saying.
“So what’s it gonna be?” I asked, hoping with all my might that he wouldn’t pick the option that would hurt me the most.
“I just wanna keep you safe, Y/n,” he answered, eyes knitting together as he spoke. I knew he meant what he said. I knew that he was speaking from his heart, but that just wasn’t enough. I needed more.
“That’s not a real answer,” I stated sadly.
I slowly turned around and walked back into the house, leaving Oscar out in the cold yet again.

A/N: Duudee okay, I’ve been thinking about how this would go down for literally 10 hours, and I keep coming up with the same thing. Long-term or not, Oscar’s girl definitely has to hit it off with Cesar. And if she hits it off with Cesar, you already know he’s gonna go to her for everything. Especially when it’s about his girl troubles like Monse. So, with that being said, let’s goooooo……..
Warnings: uhh..fluff, language.. also kinda short, and just goofy haha. fem!reader.
Summary: The request basically lmao

When Cesar told you that he slept with another girl while Monse was gone, you wanted to punch him in the face for Monse. God, this boy could be so stupid sometimes. You still loved him though despite him being an idiot.
When you first met Oscar, or “Spooky,” as everyone seemed to call him, it was through Cesar. He had run short on some snacks he was buying for his friends, so, you gave him the rest that he needed. Insisting on paying you back, he walked you to his house and paid you back the dollars you had given him. You told him that it was fine, and he didn’t need to, but he told you that his brother always told him to never be in debt to anyone…for anything.
And once you got to his house, you realized why his brother would say something like that. His brother was Spooky! Santos gang leader! Now, you weren’t in the middle of any violence or gangs or anything, but you were definitely aware of the things going around on your block.
Long story short, when Oscar saw you, he instantly knew he’d have to know your name and maybe a little bit more. Ever since that day, Cesar became your kid best friend, (although, was he even much of a kid anymore?), and Oscar became your boyfriend.
You were watching television when the boys told you they were going to the carnival. They asked you to come, but you declined telling them that you had work to do around the house, and you had a little headache so being around crowds probably wasn’t a good idea.
Oscar promised you fun when he got home, which Cesar gagged at, and made the both of you chuckle.
While they were gone, you made some food, cleaned the kitchen, and again sat down to watch tv.
When you heard Oscar’s car out front you unlocked the door so it would be easier for him to get in but after a minute or two of waiting for him and Cesar to walk through the door, all you heard was yelling.
And it was coming from Monse.
You looked out the window, making sure that everything was okay, but all you saw was a drunk looking Monse yelling about Oscar and all the mistakes he’s made.
You felt bad for Oscar - considering him knowing the problems he’s caused, and he’s felt bad for it, but you also couldn’t help but laugh at Monse.
These damn kids, you should have gone just to make sure they wouldn’t get in any trouble.
The more you watched the louder Monse got, and the closer she stepped to Oscar.
You could tell he was tense, and she was angry, and he was trying his hardest not to laugh at Monse and the way she was acting.
Hell, you were trying your hardest not to laugh as well.
After a minute though, it got a little serious and you wanted to go out there and console her, but Oscar seemed to have been doing a good enough job.
They pulled away, and you were going to walk away from the window, but you stopped - Monse had inched up and kissed him. She kissed Oscar.
He instantly pushed her away, and you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. And then you started laughing. Monse kissed Oscar!
Monse claimed that she hated him, and she said that everything that had happened to her was his fault, but here she was kissing him!
Boy was she going to regret doing that when she wakes up with that killer hangover tomorrow.
When Oscar came through the door clearly upset, that only made you laugh even more.
“This shit’s not funny dama.” He looked down at you. “You see what she did out there?”
“Oh, I saw it!” You chuckled, holding your stomach trying not to laugh anymore, “That’s fucking hilarious.”
Oscar rolled his eyes and picked you up carrying you to the couch.
“Oh, I’ll show you hilarious.” He mumbled in your neck.
Next thing you knew, he started tickling you all over making your stomach hurt even worse. You both were laughing but when he tried to press a kiss to your lips, you shoved him away saying, “Uh, uh. Not while you got another girl on your lips niño.”
He pushed himself off of you and scoffed.
You laughed again at his face and again, at the fact that Monse kissed him.
“It’s not funny.” He says trying to be serious. “That’s like if Cesar or uhh Ruby kissed you.”
You started laughing even harder. Ooh, was he going to catch a case!
“Are you high, Princesa?”
_
The next day, you woke to pounding on the front door. Oscar’s arm tensed around you and he kissed your temple before getting up quickly to answer the door. You tiredly followed behind him.
It was Monse and she was asking to see you.
Oscar moved out of your way, guiding you to the door with his hand on the small of your back.
Once you were outside, Monse backed up, and wouldn’t look you in your eyes.
“I kissed Spooky.” She says quickly, afraid to look you in the face.
“I know.”
“You know?” She asks surprised, finally looking up.
“I know.” You laugh pulling her into a hug. “It’s okay hermana, how’s that hangover?”
She appreciated the change in subject and laughed with you.
_
Later that night, you were laying in Oscar’s bed talking about everything and nothing. He was playing with a few strands of your hair, and you were channel surfing.
“I wonder how long you can go to jail for kissing a minor.” You say trying to get a reaction out of him.
“Oh c’mon, when you gon’ let that shit go?”
You didn’t answer him and instead just laughed it off and continued searching through all the channels.
“One to Five years.” he answers.

I’m so sorry if this isn’t what you wanted, but I hope you enjoyed :)
Summary : Oscar comes back to you after being gone for a few days, bruised up with cuts here and there. Luckily you were a nurse and pretty good with a needle.
Warnings: Nothing but fluff people.
You were trying hard to go to sleep, clutching your blankets close to you. You shut your eyes hard wanting to just sleep but it's been hard for the past few days. All you could think about is Oscar. You wonder if he's okay. You never want to know that he's hurt or dead. He left but not without leaving a bouquet of your favourite flowers and a note that just said, "I have to do something important for you and cesar. I'll be back. I promise Cariño." The note was in your hands, safe, every night you went to sleep.
You kept trying to sleep until you heard light tappings coming from your window. You opened your eyes slowly and saw Oscar standing there with a small smile. You didn't waste time and immediately went to let him in. You pushed the window open and he stuck his head in first, "Hi, baby." he said. You didn't say anything but your eyes were starting to water and you knew whatever he would say next will make you cry. You didn't know if he was real. It seemed almost too good to be true. You stepped aside to let him in and you noticed he was clutching his right arm. You closed the window and turned to him, took him in a surprise embrace which took him off guard as he stumbled backwards a bit. He softly chuckled and winced but wrapped his arms around your waist slowly.
"Hey, hey, hey. I missed you too, hermosa. Everyday damn day." He said against your hair as he took in your scent, the familiar scent he knows all too well.
Your arms were wrapped around his neck and you pulled away from him after a while. You peppered his entire face with kisses as he chuckled. That's when you noticed how messed up he was. His neck had a really big cut and his lip was cut too. You turned his head gently with your hand as he pulled a face. "What happened to you, Oscar?" You asked with pain in your heart as you checked how bad his arm is.
As he told you about what happened, you went to your bathroom to get your first aid kit that's more equipped with stuff since you are a nurse. You made Oscar sit on your bed and told him what you were gonna do. "You need stitches and a lot of it." You said as he just gave you a smile, showing you he wasn't afraid. "I trust you." was all he said.
You prepared your needle and sterilized it with a lighter. "You ready?" You asked before you did the first stitch. He looked up at you and winked. "Do what you gotta do, baby." You told him to take a deep breath and exhale as you did the first stitch. He grimaced and closed his eyes shut, "Damn, (Y/N)."
"She did a number on you." You said quietly.
"Don't worry about it. She's not a threat anymore." He said as he grunted when you did another stitch. You knew what he meant by that. He probably made a deal with 19th street. But you didn't want to know what it was. You trust him. You finished up his stitches and proceeded to put antibiotics on his wounds.
"What was she going to do to us?" You couldn't help but ask. You still had fear inside even though you knew that she's dead. Oscar put his hand on yours and you stopped cleaning his wounds. He turned to you, wincing when he did. He grabbed both your hands in his and brought them to his lips. He kissed them long as he looked into your eyes. A tear ran down your cheek. "You don't have to think about that anymore, mi amor. She's never going to hurt you or Cesar. And that goes for anyone. Youre my life. You know I would never forgive myself if anything happens to you. Then it's on me. But I took care of it. Someone wanted to hurt my loved ones and I handled it. Nobody can hurt you. Not when I'm here."
"I wish you had told me where you were going to go. I waited for you every night, Oscar." Your voice broke as you cupped his cheek. "I thought you were-" you couldn't finish your words.
"Well I'm not. Okay? " He answered your lingering words. "I'm safe and I'm here." He said. He pulled you down on the bed beside him so now you were sitting next to him as he looked at you with nothing but love and protectiveness. You wrapped your arms around his and leaned your head against his arm. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I went. But there will always be issues. I'm sick of this game. Someone has to take the first step. I'm done with this shit. I'm starting a new chapter. And I want you in it. Eres mi vida, mi amor, mi todo." He kissed your head long and then your cheek.
"I love you, Oscar. More than anything."
"Te amo."
"Stay with me? I don't want to be alone tonight. And I just got you back."
"Of course, baby. Any time you want me to stay over, I'll come."
You turned to him and leaned your forehead with his. Neither of you said anything for a while. He kissed you like it was the first time. You never knew that you would be with the feared Santos gang leader. But here you were. Nobody expected you to be his. You didn't know he would be yours too. He turned out to be the one thing you love the most. He may be dangerous but why do you feel safe when he's with you? To him, you turned his life around. You made him soft. And he's grateful for that. He takes care of Cesar better because of you. You being a nurse is just a bonus. He feels as if he finally has something that's worth fighting for. And he would protect you all his life. You and Cesar. You were his whole life in that moment. His everything. And he was yours.
Imagine Oscar coming to your house after a fight and its your brother Jamal who opens the door.
“ Ahhh!!!!! “ your brother Jamal opened the door after hearing the doorbell ring and when he saw Oscar he got so scared that he coudl only react by screaming and closing the door again.
You were in your bedroom writing your new essay for college when you heard your brother screaming and you ran to the living room throwing your laptop to the other side of the bed , when you got to your brother side you saw how panicked he was and you got scared.
“ Jamal what happened ?! who was is it? are you okay? “ You looked at your brother scared expression and you looked at the door since he couldnt form any words that make sense. “for god sake who is it at the door? I will see for myself”
You rolled your eyes and sighed heavily going to the door and opening , when you saw Oscar standing there , you got suprised since after the fight he told you he didnt want to see you again , you frowned after and stood with your arms crossed over your chest with Jamal behind you trying to see what was about to happen.
“ What?! are you kidding me Jamal? you screamed because of him? when are you going to stop being a drama queen ? I think instead of going to football I will ask for mom and dad to sign you up in a drama class who knows if you get an Oscar for yourself” You chuckled at Jamal realizing what you said and he sent you a death glare before going to seat on the couch with the rest of his friends.
“we need to talk y/n , quickly because I have things to do” Oscar spoke coldly at you trying to make you feel like you have to make his will come true.
“ You see Oscar , or Spooky whatever I call you now , we are not going to talk because I have things more important to do today and I have a date to get ready for so please leave and go back to do whatever you want, because this hyna “ you pointed to yourself mocking him for what he called the last time you two talked , “ have shit to get ready so if you want you are more than welcome to enter and stay with the kids and your brother if you dont want then leave “
“ what the fuck? you told you you could go on a date? qho the fuck is the guy? you know what I will wait here and wait for him to come “ Oscar smirked and pushed through you brushing against your arm and sitting on the same spot he always did when he came to your house
you sighed and rolled your eyes closing the door and looking at Jamal who was sitting really close to Oscar and you just went to your room locking the door behind you and grabbing your laptop again continue where you left out, meanwhile Jamal looked at Oscar scared and tried to say something to lighten up the mood.
“ So , do you want something? tea?coffee?water ? a massage to relax? Im really good at it” Oscar looked at Jamal with a weird look and the others did also making Cesar laugh.
