the one thing that pisses me off more than anything else is when people try to make characters perfect. for example, making it so dick ISNT manipulative, cheating, and lying. because he is. thats like saying roy isnt an alcoholic lol.

i think there's a line, y'know? like... okay, some of the ways writers went about causing drama for kori/dick/babs was pretty shitty and from what i understand, somewhat ooc. so i get if if you're like "ok this is gross, let's reinterpret this the way it should have been written." but don't forget that these things happen because CUTE FLUFFY BBY DICK GRAYSON.

like with roy. he's had an extremely rough history, whether you look at the n52 or pre-n52, they've made him a bit of a goofball, he's friendly and a dork and he can be a really good friend, etc. etc. but he's also kind of a shit and he's done a lot of questionable things and he has a lot of personal demons to deal with. he's been an alcoholic, a drug addict, he's been terrible to everyone around him, etc. etc.

or look at stephanie. people look at her batgirl run and are like OHEMGEE SUNSHINE AND DAISIES and immediately forget that she's a victim of molestation, that she's a victim of abuse, that she's a teen mom, that she's beat the shit out of innocent people due to being triggered, that she's tried to murder and only didn't because batman intervened, that before batgirl -- when dc forbid the writers from referencing a lot of the more triggering content of her past -- she was an extremely dark character that was prepared to murder, was overly sensitive, and had a short temper.

hell, stephanie is an extremely flawed character with a lot of problematic aspects.

THAt'S WHAT MAKES A CHARACTER COMPLEX AND COMPELLING AND FRUSTRATING AND WONDERFUL.

BECAUSE THEY JUST SUCK SO FUCKING MUCH THAT THEY'RE AWESOME

IDK i think i might have tonsillitis or something? my tonsils are touching and pretty much my entire jaw/gums/tongue/neck/etc are swollen and hurting atm. like i can barely drink or eat anything or even tilt my head without my throat feeling like hell. so idk man.
