In the comics he goes by Jim more than James, but I don't think it's ever come up in the mcu?

Aha! I feel like I must have seen that in fic, but it would make sense for that to be filtering in from the comics.

What I found really interesting, actually, in searching through transcripts for what people call him in the movies, is that Natasha seems to be the only person other than Tony who calls him Rhodey. (He and Sam call each other Rhodes and Wilson, and I’m not sure that anyone else ever calls him by name at all, except for when calling him by full name & rank.)

Aahhhh proposal headcanons! My personal hc is that when the other person proposes to tony he's like "no you can't!" and reveals all 17 rings that he's bought so far but none of them are ~*perfect*~ for his partner but he'll find it eventually, how dare they preempt him like this (but he's definitely crying and touched and eventually says yes)

Something that might work, is asking a friend to email the professor for you from your comp? I know when I work myself up about things to the point of immobility it also seems dumb and impossible to ask for help, but every time I have managed to ask, my friends are like, yeah no prob, or maybe recommend someone else who is better at the thing.

This is also an option, Anon! (Just make sure they sign your name lol that would be bad news bears.)
