it’s been months since i’ve drawn anything and years since i’ve coloured, so i thought practice would be good

Spool Art by Devorah Sperber
Sperber is intrigued by the link between art, science, and technology. In her work she explores the way in which our brains prioritize one object over another, thus distorting reality and generating subjective experience.
Her installations may appear at first glance to be random arrangements of spools of thread. But located in front of each one is a clear acrylic sphere, which rotates it by 180 degrees and transforms the spools of thread to one coherent image. The intention is that by imitating the human eye this mechanism expels the idea of one absolute truth.

sketch dump of my inquisitors at endgame
Domestic Volgen soldiers are infamously timid, so it is no wonder that this fierce band of mercenary falconers was hired to compensate. In practice they serve as bodyguards for the affluent elite, and they serve well, such that nobody dares scrutinize their backgrounds.
