spoons are superior eating utensils is so many ways. you want to spread stuff on bread? scoop it out with a spoon, apply to bread and spread with back of spoon IN ONE GO. or take 5 attempts with your tiny-surface-area butter knife, the choice is yours. you want to cut into something? spoon edge got your back. you want to eat rice without the grains falling out of the prongs of your fork? use a spoon! no holes! i will admit forks got me beat on pasta BUT you want some soup? unless you wanna do a good ol bowl slurp, good luck eating that with anything but a spoon! you want to mix some sugar into your coffee? spoons provide measurement AND stirring ability. in conclusion the spoon is the superior utensil, DEFINITELY better than the knife. and the spoon + fork combo beats fork + knife combo any day.
