The husbeast got up before me, today. He relaxed in his bath, then jumped on his computer to play a game. Around 10:00am, I asked if he would cut the veggies for me since today's a bad hand day. He agreed. At 11:30am, I just decided to risk it and do it myself. That was when he came out to the kitchen, cut the veggies, then disappeared back to his game. There's so much we wanted to get done today! Breakfast made and eaten. It's 12N, and he just wants to finish this one thing... At 1pm, he finally moves boxes so I can vacuum, then does a load of dishes. Then goes back to his game. About 3pm, he does another load of dishes. Around 4:45pm, I ask if we were going to go to Home Depot like he'd wanted to do (stated yesterday), and he gets a bit huffy. We decided to just go to the grocery store for cat food and gluten free flour. This ends up sending us to three different stores trying to find the flour. Found a new grocers that has what we use for better prices... get home, get dinner going. I say, "And now we're done for a bit, so you can wash more dishes if you want!" "My back hurts. I wasn't planning on going out, so I wasn't prepared for that." ... Yep. That's right. It's my fault we needed to get cat food and we chose to get gluten free flour for shortbread. ALL ME. Not the four hours of gaming this morning. Nope. Me. I tried to talk to him the other day and got snapped at... I get that he goes to work every day and deals with people. He's the only people I see. I only go out when he's around because that's when I have access to the car. I could go alone, but I like company, and I don't get much. I discussed the fact that I can't be expected to cook all three meals, every day, clean up after the cats, feed the cats, AND still have energy to work on my dissertation. Not with my fatigue. He gets up, goes to work, comes home and relaxes, because he's earned it. I get up, make breakfast and pack his lunch, eat, try to focus and work, make my own lunch, work more, give up and nap, make dinner, watch Netflix... usually not something I want to watch, but a compromise so he can watch what he's in the mood for. He's not abusive. He's just woefully out of touch, sometimes, and I need to vent about it without having it turned around onto me (which is a defensive maneuver). Just been frustrating.
