As the last of our class without kids, @for-fuchs-sake came over and we carved pumpkins. Her's was rotten inside (like her soul) so we shared she took over.

The ink, according to the multiple tests he ran when he didn’t believe the initial result, is iron gall ink. 

But it can’t actually be iron gall ink, because there’s no corrosion whatsoever – it’s lacking entirely in discolouration, haloes, or stains of any kind, which is… well, pretty much unheard of. It could be possible, if the book were kept in the perfect conditions – airtight, dry, dark; away from anything that could accelerate the ageing process.

Except if that were the case, the rag paper would be deteriorating – keeping a bound book of rag paper in airtight conditions would trap any moisture inside and accelerate the paper’s ageing from the inside out.
