Slime mold. It’s been great using wood chips to keep down (notice I didn’t say eliminate?) the weeds in our garden box area, but we’ve seen a lot of Dog Vomit. No, not actual dog vomit, but a type of “slime” mold, aka Fuligo septica. Over the course of a few days, this blob starts out bright yellow, fades to an orange color and finally becomes a brown powdery pile which spews its spores when disturbed, this happen a lot when watering...ewww. Supposedly, it’s just unsightly and doesn’t harm the plants or the environment, which is great, because we’ve been finding it in our garden boxes as well. #DogVomit #SlimeMold #Gross #SporeReleaser #GardenWoes
