hello, new mini moodboards for Lucinda and Hestia for the modern au fanfic I was planning (and probably won't write until I write more chapters of "Blonde Juliet" and also "Wistful Reverie".

Still doubtful of Hestia's music taste 😔

Hi! I was talking to elie (@/space-girl3) the other day and she mentioned Hestia and Lucinda and that you were the person to talk to about that so here I am! Would you mind yapping about them?

OKAY. Lemme start:

Lucinda is the captain of the Slytherin quidditch team in the 1970s. Lucinda was a pretty girl, draped in Slytherin green with matching jade-coloured eyes, dark hair falling around her down to her waist, during matches it would be pulled into a braid with a green ribbon. Lucinda, who was technically in the same year as Dorcas and Marlene and the other marauders, but took advanced classes in most subjects so they didn’t see her too often. Lucinda with strong words, sharp like diamonds on her lips, who knew how to stand her ground and got irritated fast. Lucinda who was a little bossy and could be rude but she cared and she made sure that people knew.

Hestia was a Hufflepuff girl with her dark hair pulled into braids or buns. She smells like cinnamon and almost glows under the sun, a smile tucked under a pair of dark sunlit eyes. Hestia with her notebook of recipes and her heart-shaped sticky notes and her comfy golden or warm coloured sweaters. Hestia who lived up to her name in the essence of the hearth, how she could always be warm and embrace people with the grace and heat of a contained flame. Hestia who loves to bake and loves tea and sweets. Hestia with a tender voice and hope in her heart, pulsing in her veins, the ambition to make the world a better place and loyalty to her loved once like a flower rooted in soil.

They met a long time ago. Hestia lived with her younger cousin, Gwenog Jones. Lucinda was her neighbour, and they happened to stumble into each other one summer evening when Gwenog had dragged Hestia out onto the streets to show off her new bike. Gwenog was like a sister to Lucinda, Gwenog and Lucinda often got along very well because they both shared a passion for quidditch and competition. It was no secret Lucinda was always passionate and ambitious, but she had a soft spot for Hestia. It wasn’t like Lucinda was particularly rude to people, she was just less lenient and bossier and quicker to get defensive or irritated. Despite what people might think, she’s not the best at being a people’s person. From the day they met they became inseparable.

By 9 or 10, they had sleepovers with each other about every weekend. They dragged each other around to parks and on the summers, to beaches.

Hestia was so upset when they were in different houses. The two had hoped they would be in Ravenclaw together. Hestia baked a batch of brownies (some of which turned out burnt, as at the time she was still relatively new to baking) and the two found a quiet spot under some stairs to eat their brownies in peace.

By the third year, Lucinda was rocking her title as quidditch captain and top of her class. She got offered the role of prefect but turned it down because it ended up being too much for her, she was always trying to take on more than she could chew and it was Hestia who always reminded her that it was okay to take a break or to ask for help. In return, Lucinda reminded Hestia is was okay to raise your voice and it was important to stand your ground.

By the 5th year, Hestia was dating a boy named Sturgis Podmore, an academic blond boy in Lucinda’s class with grades just below hers. She had to act like she didn’t care and that she was happy, smile on her face as this unnamed ache grew in her chest. Her heart throbbed. Everytime they kissed or he made her laugh, she felt this sickly feeling trickle down her chest, her jaw clenched. Why was she even angry? Did she have the right to be? Sturgis and Hestia broke up less than a year later.

They finally start dating in the 6th year, and they don’t ever break up. (:

Ship name is SportTea because Lucinda is captain of the quidditch team and Hestia loves tea.

HEADCANNONS:

- they would memorize each other’s coffee orders

- Lucinda is basically Hestia’s bodyguard

- sweetest person alive / bitterest person alive

- type of couple to move into a cottage in the woods with a garden of flowers and a dozen cats

- Benjy used to tease Lucinda about her crush on Hestia allll the time

- Hestia bakes a lot. She’s gotten good at it, but she used to burn everything all the time when she first started. Lucinda still ate her sweets anyway because she wanted to make Hestia smile

- Hestia and Lucinda love cats and wanted to get one together

- they go on picnics regularly

- Hestia listens to every single one of Lucinda’s quidditch strategies and even picked up on strategies and ideas herself!

- Lucinda is extremely competitive and Hestia is the least competitive person ever, so Lucinda is always taking games and competitions super seriously and Hestia is just sort of following beside her with a bubbly smile

- cuddle during rainstorms

- make friendship bracelets together (when they start dating they still wear them)

- they have been friends since childhood and do each other’s hair! Hestia particularly loves putting Lucinda’s hair into braids and sometimes Lucinda will go into practice with those braids still in.

- Lucinda is a mess in the kitchen vs Hestia who is an absolute goddess in the kitchen now

- Hestia bakes sweets for Lucinda as a reward or a comfort for her games depending on if she wins or loses

- Hestia is often flirted with and doesn’t realize (as she is one of the prettiest girls of her year) and Lucinda is always there giving those people death glares and Hestia is completely oblivious

- Hestia is one of the few people who can call Lucinda “Lucy”. Barty tried once and Lucinda punched him.

- Hestia smells like a blend of lovely spices all the time and Lucinda adores it (perfect setup for Amortentia!)

- Hestia used to make Lucinda have tea parties with her

Lucinda and Hestia canonically alive after the wizarding wars makes me think a lot of things. So here's some hcs

1• Hestia taking care of her younger sister when the first war started.

2• Lucinda meeting Hestia again after Hestia's sister team played a Quidditch match against Lucinda's team.

3• Lucinda hiding from Hestia after the match because she was still in love of her. Hestia trying to find her because she was still in love of Lucinda.

4• Hestia and Lucinda meeting again at the Quidditch world cup in 1994. They met Harry and Hestia is so happy because she is her godmother and always tried to keep him but the Dursley had his custody.

5• Lucinda watching Ginny's interest on Quidditch and training with her, motivating her to join the Quidditch team (even if Ginny was a Gryffindor, Lucinda saw something in Ginny that knew she was talented).

6• Hestia knowing that Harry looked like her childhood friend James but totally convinced that Harry is more similar to Lily than James in personality.

7• Hestia and Lucinda finally confessing eachother and living happily after the war.
