Can you tell me a little more about the company OKKO and how their games work? I'm really new to otome (but quickly obsessed) so all I know is Voltage right now, which is purchasing routes and getting to play them and whatnot, but if OKKO is free, then how does it work? Does it not cost anything or is it like My Candy Love, if you know that site, where you're allowed a specific amount of action points a day and certain actions will take up those points? Which OKKO games do you recommend?
Voltage seems to be a lot of people’s gateway otome company. lol
So, OKKO is a smaller otome gaming company and their games are free-to-play and based on a ticketing system. So, every day, you get 5 tickets to read 5 scenarios and then, if you want to read more after that, you must either buy more tickets or use tickets you have acquired for free.
They use two gaming platforms, one is a system that tells you straight out the number of points you received for an answer and the other, the “scale system,” has a set of ticks that the scale moves up and you only know how many points you have when you come to a check. In this version, you also have 100 stamina and going on lessons/interviews costs you 20 stamina. You then gain 20 stamina every hour, back to full stamina after 5 hours. During battles, you win things like love points, which can be exchanged for avatar items, elegance, which is used to pass trials, and the occasional room points, which you use to spend the Love Interest’s Room gacha, where you can win LI clothes that have affection points attached, which you will need for special story checks.
You also get to have 50 mates/friends. You can greet these people daily for love points and, when you go on lessons/battles, if you receive an excellent, you have the chance to send a stamina boost to that friend. Social!
If you are wanting to try their games, and not be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things happening it it, I would start with Arabian Night Love Story. It’s on the old system and is a casual play and has a cute mini game where you can win love points. You also have friends here that you can greet for love points, but there is no battle system. The only checks you have to meet are affection checks. The love gacha, which uses those love points to spin, is for all characters so, you might be on Assad’s route and continually winning clothes for Sinbad.
If you are wanting to try a new version of their game, try My Sweet Proposal which is the game I recommend most from them. There are, so far, four love interests with two more coming. They have monthly events that, as long as you have enough stamina boosts, are pretty easy to play. I have never felt the need to purchase anything in their game. They have a way to earn free platinum in the game which you use to buy items in game that can also be bought using real world money. Before I started actually spending money in games, I found using the free platinum system pretty easy, even though it could take some time to build up to what I needed.
