#GirlLove Anniversary - A Shout Out To Women [CC]

Just a shout out to some of my favourite women in my life. Yes, I forgot lots of people that are my friends! I can’t remember everyone exists all the time especially when I’m on a deadline, oops. Might end up ending a part two in the future!

I made a music compilation for my personal use last month of positive and uplifting song performed by women, I was updating it yesterday and thought I’d share it with you, guys.

I made this cause I wanted to listen to more positive music but when I looked for playlists or articles of positive music on the internet, they included lots of love songs and songs that sounded energetic or happy because of the music but really weren’t once you paid attention to the lyrics (like Be Ok from Ingrid Michaelson) and there were more male performers on those lists… always. So I decided to make my own compilation with no falling or being in love songs, and exclusively of female performers.

I have a compilation of male performers only, too, that I might share in the future.

Each one of this images is one cd from the compilation. Currently I’m working in a 5th with musical theatre songs, suggestions are most welcome.

I know that this message might be very long and emotional, but I just watched youtube's video for the international woman's day and read the (many) hatefull comments... about so called '3rd Wave feminism' and 'feminazis': yes, it is true that as a white or white passing woman, you have a lot of privilege. But that's exactly why we as privileged women have to help those who aren't in a position raise their voice: the transgender women and men, those who are disabled, who are not white, skinny, those who get harrassed for their religion, their sexuality or their choice to cover their head or don't. And yes, even in countries like Germany or the US, woman get paid less, get harrassed for feeding their baby in public or judged for being raped. Now imagine life in a country with even less privilege. We all - women, men, everyone on the spectrum, need to fight for equality - with love. I will not stop fighting until every single one of us is equal and has the same chances for a good life. ❤
