Let me explain exactly why there are people,...
Let me explain exactly why there are people, institutions and forces who are actively trying to use fear to persuade you that you are weak; it is because you are staggeringly POWERFUL! People have forgotten how powerful they are; they have been distracted, and a bit domesticated, at least on the surface. If you have forgotten yourself, allow me the pleasure of reminding you. Do you think a mountain lion is powerful and dangerous? Let me tell you something — you are dangerous. A human being is infinitely more powerful and dangerous than a mountain lion. Your will, your mind, your heart, your body; your total intelligence orchestrated into one razor-focused determination IS the hungry eye of the tiger. There is a fierce concentration inside of you; dormant — it is in your blood. It is the strength of your ancestors. It is the hammer and anvil of eons which struck the hardened steel of your spirit into a weapon of survival. You are a weapon. People deny their own strength because they are afraid of their own strength. Whether it’s a corrupt government or an abusive lover, those who seek to control you want you to forget your strength, because they are afraid of you. And they should be afraid. In you is the terrible power to lay waste to a dark enemy in the resistance of evil. In you is the glorious power to heal, to love and to protect what is virtuous and honorable in life. Your awesome strength is a guardian and champion for all manner of good to prevail. In your hands and words are both the power of healing and destruction. When the false-voice of doubt starts whispering in your darkest hours, let the other voice, the voice of ages, which speaks through time to give you life answer back with your defiant, awakened resolve. Awaken to your power; the power to live, the power to overcome and the power to survive the challenges presently before you.

Movies I have about women succeeding in fields that other characters thought they couldn’t possibly be any good in:
Zootopia - In a world of talking animals, Judy Hopps becomes the first rabbit police officer.
Hairspray - fat teenager Tracy Turnblad becomes a television dancer without losing weight; Inez Stubbs also becomes a television dancer despite being black in the 1960s USA.
Legally Blonde - Elle Woods, a blonde ‘cheerleader-type’, becomes a lawyer.
Strange Magic - Literal fairy princess Marianne learns how to sword fight, well enough to fight the king of the goblins to a draw.
various Barbie movies - it’s a reoccurring theme in those.
Quest For Camelot - Kaylee goes to retrieve the sword Excalibur, stolen from King Arthur by the ex-knight who killed her father ten years ago, and becomes a Knight of the Round Table herself.
I still have to get a copy of Hidden Figures, about the black women who worked for NASA as engineers, mathematicians, and computer-programmers during the Space Race - focusing mainly on Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson (formerly Goble), and Dorothy Vaughan - but I have seen that movie too.
(Fun fact - Hidden Figures and Hairspray take place at the same time. Tracy’s first live television broadcast happens during John Glenn’s space flight.)

The most inspiring people in the world (for me): - Gloria Mayfield Banks - Walt Disney - RuPaul This people are amazing and have done amazing stuff. They paved the way for others, they inspire others, they changed my world, and the way I see and approach life in one way or another. When I'm feeling down, this people can lift me up. No matter what.
i feel like everyone has kind of a “safe” album tht like always makes u feel better even when ur super super upset n im curious so rb this and put urs in the tags mine are ultraviolence by lana del rey and use your illusion II by gnr
You know how people say they have a bad hair day or a good hair day? I don't know what are those. I have normal hair day or a miracle happened to my hair day.
i’ve seen so many posts saying that “a little bit of light” is suggesting that connor overdosed on pills when he killed himself but i really think the line “The missing kid found passed out in the park” suggests that he was found alive and that the song is referring to a previous attempt. we already know that connor has talked about it before because Cynthia mentions it in the second act.
But he died from overdose. In a cut part from the lab scene, because it was considered too dark, he took Evan's pills with him along with the letter.
“I would call it a come to Jesus moment but I’m a Jew so it’s more of a come to Moses moment”
-Ben Platt talking about sneezing on rude audience members
Some things never change.
And if for any reason you find yourself in that bottom two, you better fight that motherfucking fight, because - hey, listen to me. Think about every little dark-skinned brown girl out there that anyone has told they didn’t deserve it, they didn’t belong, that they’re not worth it, and that it was too much for them to want it. You do it for all of them. Not just you. Every single one of them. We are doing this for more than just us. You understand what I’m saying? So do not give up. Because if you give up, you tell them that it’s okay to give up in the situations that they’re dealing with and that ain’t okay. Because this road is way too rough for them to give up.

I’ve told you my stories for years now. Some have been about coming of age. Some have been about coming undone. This is a story about coming into your own, and as a result…Coming alive.

I think she's hufflepuff or slytherin (this one because she's ambitious, like reaaaaally ambitious, you know, like slytherins and there's nothing wrong with that)
you can bitch about taylor swift all you want but she got spotify to pay artists $21 million in royalties and fix how they compensate artists for their music streaming and this is going to drastically help thousands of underpaid artists
Just to be clear on the facts here, since this post seems to be widely circulating, Spotify was sued by the national music publishers association for failing to pay royalties. It should be noted that the NMPA has a history of such groundbreaking work; in 2011, they took on youtube for similar claims- and won. As a result of this lawsuit, Spotify reached a settlement with the NMPA that reportedly includes paying out $21M in royalties to artists/publishers who are rightfully owed them. This $21M settlement was not the work of taylor.
I love taylor (obviously, since this is a taylor swift blog), i love talking about taylor, but i also like to look at the facts of a situation. Taylor did great things with apple music and artists’ rights there, and is a pioneer in the music field; that is undeniable. When she spoke out against Spotify’s practices in 2014 and pulled her music, that may have led to increased media scrutiny and awareness of both the inequitable payments and lack of royalites that spotify was paying to artists and creators.
Furthermore, spotify has stated repeatedly (& recently) that they haven’t fixed their problems with artist compensation; their claim is that the data is complex and this makes it hard to be sure each creator is paid accurately and efficiently. I dont hear the same complaint/excuse from apple, however, as it does not seem the same issue exists for them. It seems clear (to me) that Spotify still has things to work on in that regard (just based on their own statements). However, at least they recognize their shortcomings.
In any event, it would be wrong, in my opinion, to assume or state that all financial settlements spotify reaches (due numerous lawsuits they have and are facing), are because Taylor had a direct hand in it. We should give these other organizations the credit for taking the time and expense to seek what is rightfully due.

About Clayton, Taylor’s love interest for the Tim McGraw music video.
why are you guys SO INSISTENT on ignoring the fact that chloe attempted sexual assault after jeremy said no, blamed jeremy for it in smartphone hour, and then said “im not mad you dated my best friend and wouldn’t have sex with me”. not to mention she ignored brooke’s feelings in smartphone hour, stole brooke’s boyfriend of all people after she’d previously been cheated on, yelled at jenna for essentially no reason, and slutshamed madeline twice. like no fucking offense but you don’t get to ignore the fact that chloe valentine is a r*pist, a bad friend, a slut shamer, and a mean person just so that you can have pinkberry be uwu pure
