Library Shelves: Stained, Sealed, Installed 

  Once the shelves and faces were fitted, stained, and sealed, I used a jig to router the notches for the square tubing to pass through. At that point, everything was ready to install. 

  Install took most of a day, but preparation and simplistic design made it pretty smooth. The first upright was the most critical. From that point on I was able to use the shelves to space and level the other three.

 The shelves were secured from below through pre-drilled holes in the 1.5″ square tube supports. The final step was screwing the facing boards to the shelves, I had also predrilled all of the holes for this step. 

  The last step was the hardest, carrying all those boxes of books up 3 flights of stairs to their new home.
