Getting By
The weight of the world on my shoulders
But yet it's really nothing more than everyone else
So I guess it’s really just the weight of my world on my shoulders
Pushing me down as I drag myself around the halls
Restless; eager for school to end and summer to start
Just to end up slumped on the stairs after a long day
Too tired to even make it to a bed
Waking up to sheets on the floor
And sweat on my face
From another sleepless night
Because the humid spring makes it impossible to sleep
Hoping that tomorrow
Is finally a good day
Or at least a little lighter
