In celebration of Spring + Melody of Moominvalley.

Snufkin’s love for Moomintroll blossomed out of his chest, filled the valleys infinitely. It expanded endlessly, as free and beautiful as a spring dove’s song. Snufkin loved Moomintroll as he loved the moon, as he loved the earth beneath his feet, as he loved every blade of grass.

Did Moomintroll still only believe in a love like Moominmama’s and Moominpapa’s? A love that needed to be stationary and contained? A baby dragon, trapped in a jar? Still?

thinking about snufkin confessing first and also just broadly thinking about what “love” means to snufkin is always something that makes me emotional, so it was fun to kind of flip the script here with a snufkin whose emotions are Big and a moomin who doesn’t really know What To Do With That
