WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR FNAF SECRET OF THE MIMIC'S ENDINGS (in no particular order)
Hey, guys. Guess what? This a springlock animatronic. An old one, Bub the Bulldog. He was developed for an earlier incarnation of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza that never made it out of research and development. I think he's meant to be the canon version of Sparky the Dog. He looks different than in the FNAF movie, but... he's got the dog bone "bowtie" around his neck. This guy was a complete shock to me when I saw it. And it gets better...
A springlock animatronic of Jugband Monty, also developed for the version of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza that never saw the light of day. I just realized while typing this that Spring Monty and Spring Bub have a lot of wear and tear on them. What the heck happened to these guys!?
A tapestry depicting four characters from David's favorite bedtime story. A fox, a bunny, a chicken, and a bear. Notice how the bunny is green and the bear is purple. Call me crazy, but I have a theory about the bedtime story. I wonder if the rabbit is William... green, the color of money, greed, and envy. The bear might be Henry, who is morally gray and shadowy... The chicken might be the owner of Chica's Party World. Which begs the question... who does the fox represent?
Come to think of it... notice how the bunny and the fox are facing left, while the chicken and the bear are facing right. If William is the rabbit, who is his fox? The Mimic? What is Henry's relationship with the owner of Chica's Party World, then...? Unless...
... Guys. What if Henry's wife was the owner of Chica's Party World? It would make sense that a female business owner would use a female character as a mascot. There's no other way it would've worked in the 70's. People were still majorly misogynistic towards women back then. Scott was not doing very well with his female characters in the past, but if the way Chica and Fiona have been treated here is any indication, he is steadily improving. Thank you for helping him, Steel Wool. You're all an amazing team. Keep it up!
By the way, here's David's room. Does this look familiar to you? Look at Dawko's face. That was my face, too. It's the bedroom from FNAF 4. This is in Edwin's family home. William Afton took EVERYTHING from Edwin, including his house and the land it's on. The house that belonged to Edwin's parents. William Afton stole Edwin's ideas, his family, his house, everything. And in the end... Edwin's supposed death was a domino effect of all that.
On a lighter note... behold the prototypes of Classic Bonnie, Classic Freddy, Classic Chica, and Classic Foxy. Their baby photos... <3
Speaking of baby photos... old springlock suits for Spring Bonnie and Fredbear, possible prototypes. According to one of the messages found in the manor, Edwin was already working on water-resistant springlocks by the time Henry ordered him to change the upcoming FNAF 1 location from springlock animatronics to more traditional ones. What's worse is that during research and development, Edwin would employ teenagers to wear springlock costumes. And there were frequent springlock failures that usually ended in death. The suits would be cleaned out by Nurse Dollie in her hospital.
I think I know what happened to all that biological waste... there's glowing stuff powering the mansion. I think it's remnant... so... so much remnant... I could be crazy, but I don't think I am. Jesus Christ, Edwin is a goddamned complex as fuck tragic monster.
I wonder how much worse Henry is. I said before Edwin was Henry-coded. If Scott is trying to distract us from Henry for a bit, clearly he has big plans for him. And he's giving us a hint of it through Edwin.
... JESUS CHRIST, NO. HENRY IS A BIGGER FUCKING MONSTER THAN WE ALL THOUGHT. And FNAF 6 was his was of repenting for his sins... but that's just a theory. No, I'm not saying the line, you fill it in.
David's beloved Tiger. One blue eye, one green eye. He was just called "White Tiger Toy" in-game. He doesn't have a name at this point in the timeline. I wonder when The Mimic came up with Tiger Rock. My theory is that The Mimic's program, mimic1.exe, is what triggered Glamrock Freddy and his friends to become sentient. Freddy and the others are very human mentally, even if they have animal instincts that are very raw and primal. They must all have imaginations to some degree. Plus, The Mimic himself made numerous childish drawings that he hung around the manor.
I messed up the formatting of this post, forgive me, but I forgot to post a closeup of the thing with buttons in front of David's bed: a storytelling device Edwin made for David.
It looks like a book with colorful buttons on it that light up when you press them. It depicts a purple bear, a blue bunny, a yellow chicken, a red fox, a green gator, and a pink dog. The bear, bunny, chicken, and fox all appear in David's favorite bedtime story. William Afton took all these characters and warped them, distorted them, all in the name of greed. And with the Pizzaplex after his death, Fazbear Entertainment has made things worse by making the characters a little too sexy. Sex sells, even in children's entertainment, and that's weird. This series is weird. The fandom is weird. I'm weird. We're all fucking weird. And Scott still likes us for some reason. Go figure!
There is a huge twist in this game I am not going to post about until tomorrow. It will be covered in spoiler warnings. I hope everyone will be respectful of those who don't want spoilers. I hope they've been respectful so far. I hope I have been as well. I'm just excited about this insane lore dump. No wonder Steel Wool was so tight-lipped about this game!!!
... Thinking back on everything I've seen. I'm suddenly reminded of every Monty sighting in the game and how my heart went NUTS everytime. I am madly in love with this gator. Help me... even when he's fat, he's so handsome! I JUST LOVE MEN, MAN!!
(Sorry this post was a mess. I'm taking a vacation this coming week for my birthday and have been stressing over it. Plus, with recent happenings in the U.S., my mind has not been in the greatest of places lately. I'll be fine! My mom has been supporting me. If the universe wills it, we will all be okay in the end.)
Guess who played FNAF Flipside and found out a certain gator was there. He is like a cranky old man and I love him. This is Modern Monty's dad, you can't tell me otherwise.
Look at this old mf
I was watching this video:
This is a video essay on how Sparky the Dog would eventually become Bub the Dog.
This video points out that before Henry requested changes for the final animatronics for the FNAF 1 pizzeria, the band was likely going to be Fredbear, Spring Bonnie, Spring Monty, and Spring Bub.
Imagine how much different things would have been in FNAF 1 if Henry hadn't requested those changes...
Okay, what if before Henry and William thought about calling it "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza" they were gonna call it "Fredbear's Funtime Pizza Place"
It would have had Fredbear, Spring Bonnie, Spring Bub, and Spring Monty
Fredbear would be in Freddy Fazbear's place
Spring Bonnie would be in Classic Bonnie's place
Spring Bub would be in Chica's place
Spring Monty would be in Foxy's place
But then something happened to drastically change their minds and phase out springlock suits from the final design
I thought maybe it was William accidentally getting springlocked that might have dissuaded them... but maybe it's something else? Something to be revealed in a future game? I don't know...
Wouldn’t it make sense for a FNAF 4 be set with Spring Bub & Spring Monty? I have some ideas for them.
I'm not sure about that. Spring Monty and Spring Bub appear to have been used prior to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza existing. They were likely decomissioned before William Afton began running his fear experiments on children and causing the nightmares in FNAF 4.
However, the classic FNAF games are stated to have been made by an unreliable narrator. Who knows, maybe there were Nightmare versions of Monty and Bub and we just didn't get to see them because the developer had his facts wrong? Considering the lore has been essentially retconned, I wouldn't be surprised.
Guys, what do you think a hypothetical version of FNAF 1's pizzeria with springlock animatronics of Fredbear, Spring Bonnie, Monty, and Bub would be like?
I would love to see a traditional FNAF game based on this concept as a sort of what-if scenario. Nothing too special or fancy. Just something that showcases what FNAF 1 could have been like if the in-universe lore was ever-so-slightly different.
