CHANEL // SPRING // 1994 . Chanel meets Rustafian, Bondaged Rapper! Sorbet coloured micro skirt suits, braided and frayed, baggy denim and Chanel stamped suspenders, this was Karl's fresh take on the houses classics. The other big trend was the emphasis on corseted waists, deemed that it "Looks so good when its small and defined", the bondage element of course came from the bandaged like tops and swimsuits. Such a great collection, Karl also gave us a memorable runway moment mid way, sending a Chanel clad model rollerblading down the runway ( something Jeremy Scott would reference almost two decades later with his "Barbie" collection ) complete with logo laden rollerblades! Just another way Karl demonstrated his genius with keeping Chanel of the moment. This collection also featured in one of my favourite Vogue editorials. Styled by CCD and shot by Meisel for the March 1994 issue and featuring some of Karl's favourite muses, Linda, Naomi, Carla, Nadja, Claudia and Nikki.
