Brace Yourself, Spring is Coming
Spring arrives on the 20th of March according to the calendar, but Mother Nature does her own thing.
Walking on frozen or wet and soggy soil does a lot of damage to plants and beneficial insects, and it’s best to be patient. Emerging daffodils and other spring bulbs are not a sign it’s time to plant.
If you have to walk on frozen turf take a different path each time to mitigate the damage. To prevent the spread of the deadly oak wilt, pruning of oaks should be done when the trees are dormant. Contact a certified arborist for advice. To find a professional in your area go to www.tcia.org and enter your zip code.
