How'd you get involved in Senyū translating?

You are interested in my backstory...!? (it’s not that interesting.)

Back when the translated chapters were around the middle/early end of part 3, I saw in the credits page that the Battlebrave team back then was looking for proof readers, so I contacted the uploader over Batoto, and that was that (as a proof reader, I wasn’t translating). I also ended up doing the SQ translations (this was when I hadn’t even officially started learning Japanese yet and I was just going off that and the Chinese translations, SQ is so embarrassing to read now orz). The other members of the team got busier and busier throughout part 4 and I brought my own friend along to help with the editing parts, and eventually it was just me translating and my friend doing the editing. We did a good bit of Senyuu+ together before he got too busy as well.

By that time, I knew enough about Photoshop to take over editing so I’ve been doing it on my own until recently, and now I also have @comeonblub helping out (thanks a bunch!).

Aaand here we are today. To be completely honest, I’m not as into Senyuu as I used to be thanks to falling into the hell of some other new fandoms, but I don’t have any intention of giving up translating in the near future just yet! But it’s true that I’ve gotten lazier about actually doing the work, and as always, I’m very sorry. _(:3 」∠)_ A thousand thanks to everyone for being patient.

What do you ship in Senyuu? (I ship Albatross (Ross X Alba) so I just wanted to know)

I’m pretty amenable to everything, although I’ll admit I tend to go for the obvious ones. I also feel like for certain characters (Alba and Ros for instance) they’ve got this all-encompassing gray area of “Very” Close which includes both friendship/romantically and it’s hard for me to explicitly call it either one. I think it’s easier for me to list “character interactions I like” rather than explicit “ships.” Well, I’ll do my best. Italics are particular favorites.

Ships that I do actively like romantically (but may also stay as friendship (doesn’t apply to canon)): Alba/Ros, Crea/Sion, Foyfoy/Hime, Teufel/Ares, Rchi2/Honey

Guilty Justice/Dezember wavers between the above category and below.

Interactions/friendships I like: Salt/Lake/Lym, Salt/Sochi, Ros/Rchi2, Alba/Rchi2, Alba/Honey, Crea/Alba, Crea/Ruki, Foyfoy/Alba, Foyfoy/Ros/Crea, Foyfoy/Ares, Foyfoy/Teufel, Ares/Alba, Hime/Albatrossruki, Hime/Marl, Janua/Samejima, various Originia family combinations (Rchimedes, Ros, Crea, Cecily, Lake).

If I'm not mistaken, Shion means...Aster Tataricus, which, in the language of flower, means "Remembrance". I'm pretty sure you know about it, but, just in case I'll put it there, maybe it'll give you idea!

Yes! Shion is such a pretty name, in both sound and meaning.

What I love about it is that Alba, Ruki(’s real name, (tentatively) Lumire from Lumiere), and Crea (can also be transliterated to Claire) all have names to do with “light” or “clear” and of course there’s Alba’s “spring” too.

So I like to say Ros is a precious flower child surrounded by light, pfft. And flowers need light to grow…

I’m under absolutely no illusions that Haruhara did this on purpose though, pfft.

serious question! Rosal or Albatross...? (as in the pairing)

Aren’t they the same thing?

If you’re talking about who tops/whatever/stuff like that, Japanese fandom uses Rosal for Ros topping and Alros for Alba topping, and Albatross generally refers to Alba and Ros’s friendship without romance.

I am firmly on the alros boat. /// But I don’t dislike rosal, it’s only when rosal is portrayed a certain way that I really can’t stand it.

Ros is more like Cecily and Lake is more like Rchimedes.
