“You know,” he mused, now sitting at the top but not going down. Louis nodded, urging him to continue, “This is a lot shorter than I remember.”
He laughed, shaking his head slightly as he slid down and to his surprise; Louis was waiting for him at the bottom. He grabbed his hands, helping him stand, and he lingered for far too long before releasing his hold. When Louis’ hands fell to his hips, he suddenly realized what they were doing and began pulling away.
“Harry,” Louis whispered and he immediately stopped his actions. His hold tightened, causing him to lean further into Louis, his hands resting on his chest. He was surprised at the feel of the quickened rate of his heart, which he realized after a moment, matched his own. “I’m sorry because I hurt your feelings,” he said quietly, finally answering his question from that afternoon, yet he only shook his head in response.
“I’m sure you think you are,” Harry nodded, glancing towards him briefly. He lifted his head, finally meeting his eyes, “I need to know… I just want to know what this damn game is; I mean... have you ever been honest with me, ever?”
“Yeah,” he nodded but didn’t elaborate, and he scoffed in response. He moved to push away from him, but his hands slid to his back, and he ignored the way his touch burned his skin as he kept him close.
“You didn’t hurt me,” Harry suddenly retorted, his tenacity fading as he stopped resisting his hold, his shirt sifting through his fingers. His fingers pressed into his skin, not rough but as though urging him for something. With Louis’ breath tickling his skin, every resolve was beginning to fade and Harry knew he couldn’t have that. “Why did you say that to him if you’ve been honest, if you’ve ever been honest?”
“List-” he started, his hold loosening and Harry immediately backed away from him. “Just,” Louis spoke but he turned, hands on his hips as he stared at him pointedly. He suddenly cowered, his gaze dropping as she stood unwavering. “Harry,” he groaned loudly and he rolled his eyes.
“What?” he responded with a roll of his eyes, “What does prince Louis want?!”
“I fucked up, okay,” he cried out, throwing his hands in the air. He began pacing as he spoke and he could only watch as he began to lose control, “look I don’t know how to do any of this, I was dick, a complete asshole, okay,” he turned towards him, his eyes so intense, he released a soft gasp.
